Qantas double status credits OR double points offer [book 23-28 March 2023]

Usually not. The first batch might take a couple of weeks and then later ones come quicker. I think it's just a CYA wording. The credits are applied in the membership year flown.
I’m doing the same
Maybe a silly question but ...

"Double Qantas Points and Status Credits will be credited to your account from eight weeks after travel. Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward and Status Accelerator/Challenge earn requirements. Status Credits are not transferable and will be governed by the Qantas Frequent Flyer terms and conditions. "

Does it usually take 8w for these to be credited? If I'm flying in Mid May and my reward year ends may 31st, will the credits apply for the reward year I've flown (or when they're credited, ie: the subsequent year)?
I’m planning something similar, would be nice to have confirmation from Qantas that this will be credited to the year flown, not the subsequent year?

With this offer being so restrictive it's really brought home to me how QF isn't a true international airline, just an Asia-Pacific one with a couple of token European destinations. And even within Asia Pacific it's hard to find a flight that fits this offer - I can't find a QF-metal flight to NAN for example, only FJ flights with QF codes.

I put a $25 'fully refundable' hold on a $14K flight to LHR yesterday, then immediately got pissed off after paying it when the next thing that popped up was 'your hold is not refundable if you cancel the booking' (um, so not fully refundable then at all? Misleading and deceptive much? Lucky it's only $25 and I can't be bothered) and worse when I as WP tried to ring QF to ask a simple question about the booking I was on hold for 15 minutes and then got cut off. So if a WP wanting to pay $14K for a fare can't get through to the call centre then that is frankly pathetic and not the kind of service that makes me prepared to continue to pay the kind of fares that QF wants. SQ is $13K and that's for getting to the European destinations I actually want to go to, not being locked into LHR cos that's the closest the airline flies.

So basically this hamster doesn't feel like running just because QF has spun the DSC wheel.

er skip - I pointed this out very specifically. I know I waffle but that was a succinct post :p
It’s a fair cop gov, you got me bang to rights there.

BTW, I have registered again and now have an email and have accumulated a boatload of screenshots. This text in the FAQs suggests that registering via email doesn’t trigger the confirmation email, and the invitation email is consistent with that. But yeah, whatever, it’s QF marketing speak…

How do I know if I have registered for either double Qantas Points or double Status Credits?

Once you have completed the registration process from this page, you will receive confirmation of your reward via email. If you registered via email, you will be directed to a page confirming your registration. If you change your reward preference, the reward fulfilled will be the last reward chosen before the campaign end date. This reward will apply to all eligible flights booked in the campaign period.

Mrs Pineapple registered for double points last time but received no email. She’ll go for double points again this time (LTG and no chance of any more than that)

Cheers skip.

Is anybody else having a problem registering this weekend for the Double Status? I have not been able to all weekend and keep getting an error message.

I know JQ has been explicitly been excluded in the T&Cs but is there an unspoken rule around it still giving DSCs?

Nope, must be Qantas/Qantaslink operated.

Something that has come up a few times are flights operated by Alliance. In short Qantaslink flights operated by the regional subsidaries like Network Avation (A320s/F100), National Jet Systems (B717), Eastern/Sunstate (Dash 8's) and finally Alliance (E190s) are all counted as Qantas operated and therefore receive double status credits.

Registered, booked and burning some credit vouchers - vouchers get me as far as CGK and WP for another year. I then have a cheap QR J fare to get me to London, that gets me VA gold so I can be a true free agent for the rest of the year.

I guarantee to you that any DSC earned, no matter when they post, apply to the membership year in which the eligible flight is flown in. Simples.

Flights seem to be going fast, was in two minds about booking a run to CHC and it's suddenly jumped by $700! Will keep an eye on it but at these prices and being 325 credits short, it's kind of hard to justify.

The best SC run for this promo appears to rack up 1040 SCs (inclusive of DSC), on one ticket, for a mere 2644 AUD or 2.54 AUD/SC, starting from AKL.

A similar run also exists starting from PER for about 200 AUD more.

It is a 14 flight itinerary and takes 5 days to complete. It is most ideal for those who are AKL, SYD or PER based.

Might have missed it but what route is this?

I thought booking OOL-MEL-AKL was crazy enough.

Any hotel time or all onboard / lounge for 5 days? 😳

There are no redeyes/overnights spent onboard. Purposely avoided them as it'd be far too taxing on someone flying it.

I'll provide a hint: you go through 6 capital cities in AU.

You can push it beyond 5 days by extending your stays in each city to suit.

I am not going to reveal the routing publicly. That's how we lose all our good things...

As you know, as a SFSC I was happy to earn a lazy c. 1500 SCs (without DSCs) on an annual DONEx. But I'm not going to substitute a 6-15 week real DONEx for an ersatz 5-day version for a measly base 520 SCs for nearly as many flights.😜
