Qantas double status credits: Register & book between 12-18 March 2025

My last SCs to lock in 2025-26 through August were just booked. Just a quick run SYD-BNE and back in U (earning 72 SCs under the promo). Also have some bookings from the prior promo that I will use at the front end of the next membership year, before the October travel window closes from that promo. Been quite a lean year, this one. Will end up on exactly 1,200, with the loyalty bonus to carry over into the next year

It's the moment we've all been waiting for! Qantas is launching a new Double Points or Status Credits offer at midnight. They've already updated this page of their website with details of the new offer:

Register and book between 12-18 March 2025, and travel between 19 March 2025 - 24 February 2026.

Only Qantas marketed and operated flights will earn DSCs.

From the FAQs, here are the flights eligible for this offer:

There's also a double points offer on Qantas Holidays and Hotels bookings, in addition to the current offer:
Can I ask why when i look at the calculator for status credits it shows a different amount than the article shows? Syd > Queenstown business saver route?

Seeing more and more articles in the mainstream media about people disillusioned with chasing status and points …

Well I had 100% failure for a trip to LHR in 2022 as SG in peak season and 100% success outside of peak season as WP, and I know at least one of those upgrades I probably wouldn’t have got without it.

Status is not as good as I’d like it to be, but DSC to help retain status does make a difference imo.

The first CEO interviewed is LST based, an airport with only a regional cupboard even smaller than HBA lounge, only flies Business internationally and is happy with J class benefits.

That said if she does indeed take 175 flights a year she should easily be able to have Platinum equivalent status with Qantas/Oneworld, Virgin and a Star Alliance airline without having to book any status runs. If I had that much work travel Id expect to be Platinum One.

The point re less incentive to chase CC points when classic reward flights are harder to redeem seems fair but even that is tempered by the comment re the value of included travel insurance. There was another article in smh today about how CC insurance came to the rescue when the airline and paid policy wouldn't.

The value of status will vary by individual, but IMO really depends on how much you fly, what class you fly in and how cheaply in terms of both $ and time that status is achieved.

Is it worth a casual flyer chasing status ? Probably not, but if you fly a bunch of whY for work, status can make the trips more comfortable, ensure you are better looked after during irrops and have some better access to awards.

Welcome to AFF, @jnjbsjvm !

In the table that appears in the article, both lines that point to Queenstown are for flights from Adelaide or Perth via either Sydney or Melbourne, as they don't have non-stop flights themselves. (You'll pick up SC for the connection, as factored into the calculations.)

With QF pricing to LAX being too high we didn’t bother booking anything other than A320 coast to coast runs in business.

A quick question and please accept my apologies if this has already been asked several times. I couldn't locate it in the 17 pages of this thread.

My colleague booked several flights yesterday and registered for the double status credits offer today. He was working on the understanding that if he booked during the offer period and registered during the same period then the DSC on the bookings made during the offer period but prior to his registration will still apply.

Is this correct?

That surprised me, serfty. As usual, the T&Cs are ambiguous:

Qantas Frequent Flyer members who register and make a new eligible flight booking between 12.01am (AEDT) Wednesday 12 March 2025 and 11.59pm (AEDT) Tuesday 18 March 2025 for travel between 19 March 2025 and 24 February 2026, will have a choice of either one (1) of two (2) available rewards.

implying that you just have to do both register and book within the promo period, irrespective of order.

But do you think that a booking made a day before registration, per the OP, will earn DSCs?

It doesn't say register and then book. So I am thinking there isn't a sequence that has to be followed but I was sufficiently unsure that it prompted me to post.

Qantas have been called and they weren't really sure, but ultimately said they think the DSCs will apply.

Yeah, so many promos are register first and then book. Out of force of habit, I always register first to avoid disappointment!

Exactly - As indicated, it is "Register AND book" not "Register THEN book".

Yes
