Qantas extends current status Until at least March 2021

So with the news that Qantas has quietly cancelled almost all international travel until 31 Mar 2021, that means I have lost any chance of making requal for my year which ends on 31 March 2021. it also means that I did not receive any benefit at all from my hard earned status credit requal that I achieved in February 2020 for the year to 31 March 2021. All my cancelled flights were more than enough to make the requal on earned status credits until March 2022, but none of them will go ahead now. Sure hope they do find a way to extend me or else it will be the LTG cushion for me.

I'm about 400 SCs away from the LTG cushion - and would be there now if Domestic travel was as usual. Living in Dan's Desolate Downtown, I've no idea when that cushion will sweeten any future blows this thing will wreak.

Tiny issue though in the news of 288 new infections today!!

Regards,

BD

And we are end of April. I did benefit but partner had already requalified.

Hmmm. It seems not applicable to lifetime tiers? As LTS, no bonus credits.

And we got the raw prawn wit lounge invitation extensions... LTS invites were not extended whereas silver members got a free year and another pass :(

If you are LT

Well, the intent is to retain status, not attain a higher status.

When is your expiry date. I'm sure I read it applied to silver as well

Huh. Well I just read the rules... it looks like lifetime status holders are eligible. I shall sit and wait (I'm in the eligibility period).

Yeah - but if you're handing out goodies, it seems that those who have shown loyalty are forgotten. This is the second time, and it's a bit unfair!

I could say if you were loyal you'd be SG... ;)

I wonder how this will interact with PointsClub Plus members

Points Club and Points Club Plus members attain these levels from points not status credits so are independent of the latest status credit support. If those same members have a frequent flyer status of Gold or above they receive status credit support on the basis of their frequent flyer status; if they are Bronze they have no status as such and will not receive support as they do not qualify for it or need it.

PointsClub Plus members get to roll over 100 status credits into the following year.

I would think this may be catered for in full or part next year when the 'proper' membership anniversaries fall, i.e. this year's anniversary date plus the 12-month extension.

Points Club Plus earns on dollars spent, not flying. They won’t receive a status extension. (Not related to Points Club Plus that is; only if the person also holds relevant QFF status as well.)
