Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

Question about rollover SC's - my status year ended 31 Dec, and at that point I had only 40 new SC's from 2021, which were credited back on 1 Jan 2022 with "Status Support - Status Credit Rollover" as expected. My QP status is still intact for 2022 as expected having met the one-flight criteria last year.

The challenge is that I also earned 150 SC's on 25 Dec 2021 for flights on FJ which were credited on 14 Jan 2022, with these SC's immediately deducted once again as "Expired Status Credits." This part is expected since these were earned in the previous status year. However, this means that these 150 SC's didn't rollover - there's no further re-crediting of these 150 SC's as rollover.

Question - do you think this be fixed automatically if I wait a while, or do I need to contact QFF?

The point may be academic as I doubt I will be able to reach 1200 SC's this year (with only 190 rolled over), so will probably drop to Gold on 1 Jan 2023 anyway, but I would still like them to be credited just in case.
Do you remember how long before the end of Dec the app showed your extended status?

I'm based overseas, but my account was still listed with my old Aussie address when they sent the offer out. So I have both booked the flight as requested by them, and I changed my address on my Qantas account to correctly be overseas.

But now sitting here a bit nervous, a few days before the end of my WP status on the 31st of Jan. Hoping to get some experiences from other people of when their extended status showed up in the app 😀
 
there is no need to be nervous imo. if you met the criteria then no issue and it should show on 1 feb AEDT.

Seems a bit of premature anxiety on the part of a few AFF members. I mean I know some people have problems with premature hings but really....

I reckon basically QF doesn't want to highlight the status extension in the account early. Maybe some people won't have read about it and will do the flying to retain unnecessarily. Or it could just be that from an IT standpoint processing the extension at the start of the new membership year is easier.

Or it could just be that from an IT standpoint processing the extension at the start of the new membership year is easier.
Or, running a batch run after the last eligible date for a qualifying flight (to be booked) means they will capture everyone at once?

New status year always starts on the anniversary date. Not before. This has been stated numerous times in this thread and others.

Also, as Richards stated, some people might have a flight on the last day of their membership year.

just to clarify I meant booked a flight, as opposed to having a flight.

The T&C were just to book a flight by anniversary date.

And QF knows if anyone has becanse of PNR's in the system and creation date - unlike flown sectors which may take days to credit (hence the 3-4 days "grace" at the start of a new membership year where status can "hang around").
 
So I booked a flight prior to my status anniversary date. My status was extended for a year - great, and thank you to Qantas..

Qantas just notified me that they've had to change my flight.
The old flight shows up as "cancelled", and I've been allocated to another flight later in the day - I need to accept that however.

According to the Status Support page:
If the booking is cancelled, will my status still be extended?
We will extend your status if you’ve made a booking in line with the requirements and Qantas cancels the flight you’ve booked.

Does anyone know if this means even if I do not take the flight, I have met the condition of status extension? If so, do I just do nothing?
 
Anyone reckon they’ll extend status for a July 2022 review date. I’m hopeful but suppose I’ll have to wait and see.
 
If the change is not acceptable to the customer, they can refuse it and Qantas must refund. This happened to me a few months ago. It worked in my favour as I wanted to cancel anyway. The OP says he needs to accept it, though.

You can also choose to change the flight to another time or date. You do not have to accept if the new flight is quite a time difference to your original flight. Even if you cancel, your status renewal remains as a) you made the required flight booking; and b) Qantas cancelled the flight (if you don't accept the change), not you.
 
IIRC the practical problem with these cancellations was that your only online option was to “acknowledge” the changes. To change or cancel, you have to o_O ring up. I have quailed at changing for that reason.
 
Sorry for asking a question I am sure has already been asked, but to save me reading 16 pages of thread, could some one advise whether a flight booked using the Amex Travel Credit will meet the requirements for the status extension? It's not totally clear, from the below but I suspect that Qantas Flight Credit is not the same thing.
