Are they really about 98c each now? I remember when they were less than 40c each ... and even then I thought they were expensive!

A quick look on homeshop didn't really show anything cheaper. There was some Maggi sauces on sale for around 89c each - but not sure whether that price translates into shop.

At my local store they're worse than that - $1.02. It's probably a state thing as it's in the burbs and not an especially affluent area.

Arguably, they would justify it as they're the Extra range, which are "baked, not fried" hence a premium product...

Gotta say the golden rough (@$0.90) is much more usefull than maggi sauces. But sounds like the cat might get some treats as well during the next 4 weeks.

I must say I am liking this whole set up.Spent $70 at Woollies yesterday and mrsdrron gets 40 QFF points and an entry to the 1m points and I get 65 Aadvantage miles for using the DC.Winners all around.

At the Qantas site it says,

"BIG W offers value for less on a range of everyday items including:

But then in the fine print it says,

"Offer excludes selected purchases including smoking/tobacco products, gift cards, BIG W optical, DVD Kiosk purchases"

Usually if I am buying entertainment and Electronics I buy it from the counter near the DVDs which I assume is the DVD Kiosk.

If I take my DVDs and electronics to the front then can I credit them to my EDR account then.

Also it is very unclear what qualifies as a DVD Kiosk purchase and if Entertainment and Electronics are excluded it seems wrong to mention the at all.

My own experience at Big W is that I bought a DVD and some other general items, paid at the front counter, and got full QFF points for everything over $30.

qantas ff points are becoming useless as you need more & more to get a decent o/s rewards flight, went to London with Ansett via Malasian for 110,000 points some years ago now you need 250,000 points approx, I think we are all being conned.

Well I bought 6 blu rays and a few other things and paid for it all together at the dvd counter in the store (not the front counter, but the one where all the discs are kept). The total was ~$157, and my account was credited 127 points by EDR, on top of the 157 QFF points from Amex. Considering the blu rays were about the same price as what you'd pay on eBay for them ($23 each), I could pay with Amex (where PayPal doesn't accept it), and I could get bonus QFF points from EDR, I was very happy

Not sure how you work this out since on the QFF points calculator it tells me Melbourne to Heathrow costs 128,000 points..

No doubt that redemption prices have increased on QF steadily and uncomfortably over time. QF are pretty stingy with premium seats but that is for a valid reason. It's still probably balk-worthy that SYD-LHR in J is 128k points and in F is 192k points when you can do J much cheaper at 90k Amex points via VS (cheaper now due to promo); not sure about the rest but they can't be far behind. AA is even cheaper again, although there are no direct sweeping cards to AA in Australia at the moment (except for Diners?).

I love the example given on TT/ACA (can't remember) that says that this new QFF/Woolworths alliance is a farce and a scam because it would take an average family of four over two (or four?) years to obtain one redemption ticket. Well duh.....

Yes anat01 Diners do indeed allow direct transfer to AA but you get 25% more miles by going via SPG.

Well we already knew about the million points promotion with Nestle, but I'm not sure the Rexona or Dove Clinical Protection promo was mentioned. Over now either way, bugger.

Seems the price of this stuff is $12.95 roughly according to a quick Google.

Not bad for an extra 100 bonus points!

The latest email I got today details some new things.

This may be targeted, but have been given this promotion:

1. Purchase a $2 Everyday Mobile Pre-Paid SIM pack and recharge voucher in one transaction from Woolworths/Safeway Supermarkets (excluding Tasmania) by Sunday 4th October
2. Present your registered Everyday Rewards card before you pay at the checkout
3. Receive 500 Qantas Frequent Flyer points credited to your Everyday Rewards account on 7th October

So how much is the cheapest recharge voucher, I don't need a second SIM, but is it cost effective to just throw away, or briefly use up the credit?

Also noted at the bottom of the email is BWS' inclusion into points earning from October 5th.
