At least its not running 7starter!

If you need a 'puter with that much grunt, it would be rare there's a specific need for net book size.

I purchased an Acer Netbook for travel; total cost $330 (XP SP3, 160Gb, 1Mb, 1.6Ghz - does all I need when travelling)

Re the Acer Netbook: Over at Hardly Normal you can currently pick up the equivalent Asus eeePC for $328 (but no WW Rewards!) - it's the eeePC 1001HA, with equivalent spec to the Acer. However, eeePCs have legendary reliability - top of the class (along with Toshiba and Dell), whereas Acer and (HP) are at the bottom, according to the real-life experience of one of America's largest computer leasing companies. See http://is.gd/bzv8c - page 6. The HN stores don't usually have these on display - they'd rather ask you to pay 4 figures. But ask and they will reluctantly sell you one.

Very OT, Sorry, but there is no way you could compare a 1001HA with the notebook on special, a core i3 processor whilst being the new entry level is far more powerful than the Atom N260/270 that the 1001HA series has, including 512K level 3 cache from the Atom and 3MB on the i3! The eePC also does not have dedicated graphics, another big difference.

Mine have posted to QFF account tonight with date of 19 April 2010.
Nothing in mine yet.
A further update this morning/last night dated 19 April 2010 with transaction date of 16 April 2010.

I had 21 points for Woolworths Supermarkets, 28 points for BWS (2 cases of xx_X Gold for $58 is a bargain) and 5 points for Big W. As far as I understand the conditions of the promotion that entitles me to 600 bonus points. Is that right? I wonder when the bonus points will post.

Woolworths seem to be a bit tight on this, not sure what the story is but three weeks after meeting the criteria still no points!

I am expecting the points to hit EDR accounts this week, and onward to QFF next week. See if I am right!

I’ll wait till next Monday before phoning them up, as I’m sure others will do here?

Haven’t received my double/bonus points from Big W either, despite the fact they were meant to post by today. However having seen how EDR sometimes credits points with an earlier date, they could appear next week as if they came in this week ;)

Do some people receive more targeted promotions than others?

I find I’ll often receive a lot of them in a week or a month, and then nothing for a long time. It’s as if they are slowly working through their email database in batches, and I have to wait till they’ve got everyone again ;)

I did get a BWS wine offer a few days ago, but nothing about points, just a massive saving on sav b.

I hadn't had any for about a year, then got a couple and a batch for about a month, and now nothing for the past month.

I wonder how effective their targeting marketing is. Obviously it will always get some take-up, but it doesn't seem well aimed from my perspective.

You mean email specials not necessarily for points? Because the points earning is only just approaching a year :p

About the only thing they get right with me are semi-regular BWS mailings, but they must have a blanket scheme for booze as I never buy white but the offers generally seem to be for white. Perhaps that’s their best seller though.

I hardly shop at Big W and hardly get mailings from them, but frequently shop at Woolworths and that’s where they let me down. Strange considering that’s their main brand.

John,

I was thinking this. It appears only Sam gets offers:shock:

I must check if I have somehow disabled email offers as I don't recall seeing many.

They obviously are targetted relating to your spending patterns-but seem to be how much you spend rather than what you buy.I tend to get BWS promotions .I am the grog buyer.Mrsdrron gets a lot of the supermarket offers-her card is always used there.Since I have been in Tassie the emails have slowed dramatically-no purchases with my EDR for nearly 8 weeks now.

Just received an email:

Hi Samuel,

Thanks for being part of last week's 'Double Points' promotion. Your extra Qantas Frequent Flyer points have now appeared on your Everyday Rewards account.

On my iPhone so can't check, but thought this was good. Hopefully they do an email for the other promotion too.

Edit: I got the email, but not the points. I guess just the fact that I got the email is an acknowledgement that they know I shopped, but when their system will kick on and pony up the points I don’t know.

Yeah, I knew others who got some form of supermarket offers but I didn't get anything until 2-3? months ago.

But Sam keeps getting the wrong type of offers. :p Seriously one can only drink so much Cabernet Sauvignon. ;)

I get offers but few and far between and the offers do not look very enticing.

Yet to see any sign of the 600 bonus points.

I am sure everyone receive the recent offer for 10c off fuel this weekend if you purchase $20 worth of fruit and vegetables in one transaction and extra 4c off fuel if you spend more than $30 during the visit. Just logged on to Everyday rewards account to notice that they have applied the offer to shopping done on Friday morning even though the offer did not arrive into my inbox until after 3:00pm Friday. :)
