Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

It is a Tasmania issue - the frequent shopper club isn't an alternative to everyday rewards as it doesn't earn QFF points - I would rather have points & couldn't they operate both systems?
I also spend a lot more at the supermarket than I do at the other places - the liquor outlet is also excluded in Tas.

I think Woolworths allocate a cost to the program and at the moment the cost is being eaten up by the other program, I believe the liquor outlets are excluded by law as far as rewards schemes go in TAS but could be wrong.

Just got my extra 600 points as well.

Actually the targetted offers have worked great for me - offering things I actually wanted all it changed was who I bought them from. I've only knocked back one so far.

Just bought a ipod touch 32 gb from **** Smith Electronics from their website (zero postage) and they had it for $348 via a special $50 online saving which is a great price (was available for 2 days only). Getting the points for the credit card and the 298 pts from DSE is the cherry on top.

As with most things as long as you limit yourself to buying things you wanted anyway just changing either the when or who part then the alliance with WW can turn out to be great.

Why is it a Tasmania issue, the promo said three different places, Big W, Tandy and **** Smiths would qualify in TAS even if the supermarkets are excluded. Tasmanians have had the benefit of the frequent shopper club for a long time as an alternative to everyday rewards at the supermarkets.

Okay, so assuming hazel could get to a Big W, D¡ck Smith and a Tandy in Tasmania and spent the minimums, they’d get the bonus points, but that might not be possible. It’s still technically a Tasmania issue in regards to their long running frequent shopper club, which was there first, but might not be the best value anymore.

And of course not all d*** Smith stores qualify. Also outside Hobart and Lonnie you dont have Big W.So here in Devonport only the D*** smith store that will accept my EDR.

All three chains mentioned have mail order capabilities so there does not need to be a local store, however without being able to get points at Woolworths or the BWS stores it would take some time to accrue points to a worthwhile amount, looking at my spend over the last 12 months I would have half the points I have without the inclusion of supermarkets/liquor purchases.

One could argue that mainlanders have been short changed for a long time given the tassie program has been in effect for 15 years, however given they cannot allow points to be accrued at liquor outlets owing to Tassie laws so in some ways it makes sense to keep things separate, it also avoids uspetting long established customers who like the current program, if there are any :D

Anyone noticed their points seem to be sitting on the everydayrewards side for a lot longer all of a sudden, its been two weeks since I saw any show up with QFF, and interestingly I have over 1000 to go when they do decide to credit the QFF account.

I had not noticed as I rarely look at the Everyday Rewards site.

I also have noticed a delay in points transferring from Woolworths to Qantas. Two weeks of points held in EDR at present. Also on the previous transfer, points showed up in my Qantas account on a Friday, but weren't deducted from EDR till Wednesday of the week after.

The transfer that was expected on Fri 30, hasn't happened yet, but lately it has been anything up to the Monday before it transfers.

The EDR account is often slow in stating that points have been transferred.

I'm the same. I just look at my QFF account. I rarely look at my bonus offers...QF points are the most important curency (only to help get those ODU's)

I have been looking at the EDR site since early April waiting for the bonus 700 to come through, interestingly now that they have been credited they are slow to arrive in the QFF account, if you multiply 600/700/800 by the number of members I suppose its a large bill for points WW will have to pay.

Typically, IME, any points that appear in the EDR account in a given week (Monday -> Sunday) post across to QFF on the subsequent Friday. Given that my 700 points arrived in my EDR account on 28/04, I would expect that they will post to QFF next Friday.

Most of my bonus points have creditted to EDR a week or so after the promotion has finished, and then it is the end of the next week before they go across to QFF.

I have not seen any transfers since 9th April despite having a fair bit of activity!

Hmmm - just noticed that the same goes for me - nothing since 9/4 - wonder what gives as before that they were transferred each week on clockwork!

It is true for me that on the EDR site, there are no entries for the point transfer since 09/04, but on the Qantas side they have been arriving. Last was

23 APR 10 EVERYDAY REWARDS WOOLWORTHS SUPERMARKETS 23APR10 ---19

That's what it used to show for me, but past few months it often drags by a week or so.

And then like magic the bonus points appear in my QFF account.

03 MAY 10 EVERYDAY REWARDS PROMOTION 30APR10 ---600

I do find points recently are getting slower to post to my QFF account. Personally I would prefer points to post monthly rather than weekly as that would make it a little easier to reconcile and not clutter up the QFF statement.

On an email offer I received this morning, the following was in the terms & conditions

Offer only available at Woolworths and Safeway supermarkets from 3 to 8 May

except for Sunday trading stores until 9 May 2010
