For those just joining the thread - the prices in the calendar are return. 9800 points each way.

Yep. Most other days are cheaper than the current 16K return. There will be good news for those looking for domestic Y redemptions.

If you actually look at those dates, the only classic awards on the 30th March are via somewhere else - adding to the points balance. No dynamic pricing....
There has been literally no training for anyone in regards to dynamic pricing (call centre) and once again QF doesn't have the system at the moment for it.

Dynamic Pricing - Not going to happen yet. QF does not have the IT purchased to do such a thing.
So it’s not true dynamic pricing but it’s adding different classes of awards which means more granular availability at different redemption levels?

Any word on earn rates for points or status credits?

I bet many at QF are wishing they'd only sent out the media advisory 2 hours prior to the announcement! So much speculation and most of it quite ridiculous and not even related to the Frequent Flyer business which is what it's about!

You can guarantee it will be positive for QF and with at least a reasonable upside for most (high value) passengers - that's the only reason you wheel the CEO out for a public announcement.

How can Qantas promise a dramatic increase in the number of seats on popular routes in peak periods without increasing costs?
Put up the points needed to redeem.
Put up the points needed to upgrade.
Remember QF is generally great at PR and media.

What id like to know is, if there is dynamic pricing, how will this affect those of us with higher status?

Previously we had more availability. Will we have more availability of lower point seats?
