..... I cannot stand the thought of spending the next 12 hrs following this thread :)
I am sure you do not mean this. You, the usual suspects and I will spend the next 12 months commenting on the new P1 benefits that never came to fruition in the P1 thread. ;)

If at all, wait until November-ish...

QF had for years been missing out on the business owner market who typically will not commit to a holiday more than a few months out.
Company owners though generate significant amounts of points with the bookings though not necessarily for themselves. Surveys I have had from QF targeted where I have been sending my points earn and the level of redemptions being made.
Would not be surprised if the family requirement is also removed.

Apparently some tier 1 media have been briefed under embargo.....

Hopping and praying that this means won’t be totally negative....

I struggle to commit to a holiday more than a few months out and I'm a bottom-level employee pleb with no dependants...

I do not totally agree entirely with your comment, I was a business owner and would suggest that QF made more money out of me through flight changes so I could could meet client commitments. I also have a child so I plan around school holidays, in my opinion it a balance between business owner time, revenue, and family commitments is a balance only you can decide.

As an employee you have entitlements, if your current employer is taking advantage of the rules or treating you like a slave go elsewhere. It may sound scary but it may also be the best thing you ever do. When I had staff I never knocked back staff leave requests no matter how long or short notice was given. Temp replacement staff are available.

Oh no, my current employer is great in that regard. Have never heard of a leave request being turned down in 4 years I've been there. Just the other week I had to claim annual leave retrospectively after going on leave with no notice to my boss at all, all fine.

No, it's just that I struggle to organise the _rest_ of my life a full 12 months ahead of time...

I've been wanting to do a OW RTW for a while - now that all depends what's announced tomorrow, and perhaps any transition timeframes announced might force me to just take it, which might be a good thing...

I want to order some pies for Alan from Ubereats. Who is selling pies?

Or does anyone have any better ideas?

Qantas website keeps crashing trying to make a booking
Not for me - just unloaded half my remaining points on J redemption, without a hitch.
If AJ gives me ANYTHING tomorrow I'll buy drinks for everyone at next meet-up!!
