Thanks for posting. Been quite a while since I've flown QF F but looks very much the same as usual -- particularly the suggested mains for the tasting menu.

I guess not surprising the wines are the same on both legs.

Such a shame they still don't offer any time dining, or something a bit more exclusive to distinguish it from J (eg, caviar, or crayfish/lobster etc).

They do. You just have to tell the crew - completely reasonable in anyone's view.

QF2 DXB-SYD March 2018
One of the last QF F flights through DXB, as far as we can tell. Might be why they have the Dec 2017 menu in our Autumn. Wondering how the menu will change when QF1/2 starts going through SIN again.
The Veuve Clicquot LGD is getting a workout, I'm looking forward to one of the others soon!

Travelling in F on QF11 in a few weeks with my brother in J. If we choose to have a drink together in the “lounge” area at the front of the upper deck will I be able to be served the F offerings? Realise there may not be much difference other than the champagne.

Spirits are marginally better in F as well, More wines too. So the answer should be yes. Just ask for them before you head to the lounge.

I've had the F whiskey served to me even though travelling in J. I suspect your brother may be granted the better stuff too in the lounge. There isn't, as far as I'm aware, actual service in the lounge - but I've probably only spent 10 minutes total there across numerous flights and in the dead of night. Best to order in advance.

Enjoy the flight! Let us know how you go, and please post the menus.

There’s service available in the lounge and the crew will happily serve you the F wine, bubbles etc in that area IME. Don’t drink whisky except at New Year so I haven’t experienced that.
I’ve used the lounge as an F pax on multiple occasions, most recently a few weeks ago waiting for my bedding to be made up. Was given a glass of LGD whilst I was there.

That’s a very young Diana Madeline to be serving?
It's QF F food and beverage, so not really surprising. That said, might be a very nice drop.

Most of the food and I suspect the beverages are the same across J and F on QF.

I have mixed views on the wine in QF F. On the one hand I like the focus on Australian wines. However, you do miss out on trying premium drops from around the world that you get on other carriers. And it frustrates me that it's only on EK or SQ that I personally have seen premium Tassie or ACT-region wines. QF just sticks to its usual suspects.

(Yes, I'm biased to my homes of Tas and ACT).

Thanks Princess Fiona. Unapologetically (yes P1 / First world problem blah blah) I am tired of the Vevue Cliquot LGD. I see QF 11 had a PH Millesime. What was that like?

I love the Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill that I've had on QF10 a couple of times in the past.

I had the Piper-Heidsieck on QF1 a few days ago and it was quite delicious. The seasonal dish from the menu was a Moreton Bay Bug salad, which was average. Unsure how many of these salads were loaded but there were a few upgrades into the F cabin and it was noticeable that food orders were taken in status order with ‘real’ F pax the priority. The pax behind me requested the salad but it had run out.

The pumpkin tortellini was the standout for me.

Same route a couple of weeks ago.
Had the Charles Heidsieck Blanc des Millenaires 2004. Tastes a bit young.

Realised it's the same menu despite being in different seasons! I was thinking it did taste familiar... doh

Must have been a totally different dish to the one Ewing posted in the QF domestic J meals thread!
Qantas Domestic & International Business Class meals/menus

Also interested to hear about meal preferences given to (I assume you mean) paying F pax. I'd have assumed once onboard all pax (other than last minute gate upgrades or op-ups) would just be treated the same with status and seat location the only distinguishing elements.

I get the food wastage issue, but to run out of any dish in F is not great.
