Qantas have updated the website with more details confirming the 10x points and the process to get the bonus points.

Pretty awesome offer! Got the email too. Think some people will be getting Qantas vouchers for Xmas ;)

Great offer .. 11.5 points per dollar if purchased with Amex. Pity that it appears that you can only redeem one voucher per flight.

Have trip coming up in April for Mrs Lime to HKG (with me) how many of these vouchers can I buy?, can they all be used on one return flight?.

I can only see you can redeem one voucher per flight when using the website, along with it being a new booking.
You could try ringing them and see if you can redeem multiple vouchers on the one flight or on current bookings made with a pay later option.

It looks doubtful that more than one voucher can be used for a booking.

For international bookings though, this looks like great value as "credit card fees are not charged for using vouchers". Subject to actually checking, it would appear that buying a $50 voucher will then save the credit card fee (saving $30 for an international booking, and even the $7.70 domestic is not bad).

Means that a number of $50 vouchers may be a good investment as long as you know you will use them. Interest rates are dropping, and saving $7.70 for a $50 investment is a good return, even if you don't use it for quite a while. Of course, saving $30 makes the return look very good.

So how is the voucher used? Does it just show as credit or something?

Can I buy multiple vouchers that apply to myself?

When do the vouchers expire?

Its very similar to a credit for a flight cancellation, you can buy multiple vouchers but use only one per flight. Buying 9 $50 ones would be handy for pretty much any flights you need, and the vouchers have a year before they expire.

You don't pay the CC fee getting the vouchers. But you pay the CC when you pay for the ticket

Great finds! - original x10 bonus and x2 EDRCC bonus also

T&C's state "valid for bookings within 12 months of voucher issue"

I have not used these vouchers before. Do we take this to mean:

Only the vouchers need to be used up within 12 months

Or

The booked flights need to be completed within 12 months (ie finish travel by this time next year - 12/12/12)

I think I got myself completely confused by this

Will I still earn miles for the flight?

So if I buy a $2000 return flight to Europe using the voucher, I will earn 20k miles for the voucher plus 40k miles for the flight (assuming double miles)?

Yes, unless you are booking staff travel or industry tickets which are always excluded.

Wow, then it IS a great offer!
I wonder if Qantas very short on cash at the moment...?

Just lodged a claim for the points on a voucher I bought. Will take 8 weeks for the points to be credited.

I do wonder if you can use a number of these together. It doesn't explicitly say either way.

I noticed they've used bold for Surcharges, fees and taxes apply to all fares. These must be paid with a credit card by the recipient when they redeem the Gift Voucher so it doesn't look like you can escape the QF CC charge for a booking.

I'm not exactly sure what they mean by "If more than one voucher recipient, all recipients must redeem and travel together", but I'm suspecting maybe that's a way to stop you using multiple vouchers??

Suppose got a couple of weeks to decide if to buy.

It also says:

Qantas does not charge a Card Payment fee on Gift Voucher purchases or redemptions.
