Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

So as an update, I just got my green leaf for carbon offset and can confirm it landed at the exact time the points earned for the carbon offset spend were added to my account.

So that leans more evidence towards an offset requiring to be at least $1 and paid with cash to actually land the leaf. 4 of my previous bookings were <$1 for the carbon offset and the other one was paid with points.

I’m now going to contact Well-being support to see if they will reward the 5th quiz leaf in lieu of the bug in their system, as previously mentioned in this thread.

Good news! Well-being just got back to me and were able to bypass the 5th (quiz) leaf - so I now have green tier achieved for the second year without having to book the hotel stay!
It looks a bit weird on my account, as it still appears as 4/5 leafs - but the reward prompt appeared and I was able to net an additional 50SC.

I do wonder what would happen if I did the hotel stay to earn the last leaf though...

If I already booked a Classic Rewards Business Class flight from Brisbane to Melbourne can I now go back and offset it to count towards green tier by paying for the offset with credit card?

In the 'my bookings' section I only seem to be able to offset by paying with 212 points?

Theoretically yes you should be, in practice however according to reports in this thread and elsewhere, the success rate of it actually working and giving you the leaf is quite inconsistent.

I tried it 3 times this year to offset an existing booking for the leaf and none of them gave it to me.

I wouldn’t rely on it for the green leaf.

I made several unsuccessful attempts to offset flights after booking, and never got a green leaf.

This week I booked a classic flight reward, paid for the offset in cash, and received the green leaf a couple of days later.

Tragically my flight plans have changed and I will have to cancel the flight

My husband is finding it impossible to get his fifth leaf. He has now purchased ‘choose sustainable’ twice and has still not received his leaf. We have emailed three times and rung twice. It is starting to get urgent as his year ends at the end of the month.

Amy suggestions on what we can do?

Did he select an item from the store with the sustainable item, or just the “offset your delivery” and checkout?

Needs one item at least to go with it.

I thought you only needed four out of five? I bought wine, but delivery was free, so I missed out on a leaf there.

As a 31 July anniversary QFF’er I’m going to need every SC I can beg, borrow or Green Tier over the next 11 mths to retain WP the traditional way. Fortunately I’d read this thread cover to cover prior to the most recent status keeper announcements and now have my first 🌿 via the Wellness app.

The plan is to get 5 🌿 by June/July next year to give me the option to take 50 SCs this year or hang on to them for next QFF year (Yes, should have done this last year to potentially get 2x 50 in this year - oh well).

Just checking if this plan sounds correct?

🌿🌿 Offset Flying - first chance I get (probably a one-way domestic flight) select and pay at least $1 cash offset at time of booking.

🌿🌿🌿 and 🌿🌿🌿🌿 Use 3200 points to “Give back” and do that with a “Climate Positive Delivery” add on.

For the “delivery” does the 130 pt option work or do I need to select the $1 option?

I assume I can leave these two to as late as possible/last?

Finally, for #5 - I either need to offset a place (without car) or book a stay.

Again, I assume the offset can be done towards the end?

Are the stays only those visible through the link or are there other options lurking in QF hotels that I might actually want to stay at?

Cheers!

You can add the Climate Positive Delivery to your one person/no car TAS offset and pay for it in $.
Yeah, I meant to comment that was an assumption also. As soon as I get my new Tassie property…😉

Thanks!
