Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

As a 31 July anniversary QFF’er I’m going to need every SC I can beg, borrow or Green Tier over the next 11 mths to retain WP the traditional way. Fortunately I’d read this thread cover to cover prior to the most recent status keeper announcements and now have my first 🌿 via the Wellness app.

The plan is to get 5 🌿 by June/July next year to give me the option to take 50 SCs this year or hang on to them for next QFF year (Yes, should have done this last year to potentially get 2x 50 in this year - oh well).

Just checking if this plan sounds correct?

🌿🌿 Offset Flying - first chance I get (probably a one-way domestic flight) select and pay at least $1 cash offset at time of booking.

🌿🌿🌿 and 🌿🌿🌿🌿 Use 3200 points to “Give back” and do that with a “Climate Positive Delivery” add on.

For the “delivery” does the 130 pt option work or do I need to select the $1 option?

I assume I can leave these two to as late as possible/last?

Finally, for #5 - I either need to offset a place (without car) or book a stay.

Again, I assume the offset can be done towards the end?

Are the stays only those visible through the link or are there other options lurking in QF hotels that I might actually want to stay at?

Cheers!
Earn them in the next 11 months, but don't accept the SCs into your account until next August so they will count for 2024 renewal. I assume you received the status extension to 2023 in the current promotion? Of course you might want as many SC as possible so you can roll over the whole 500 limit.

No. 31 July 2023 anniversary do not get a further extension (deja vu)…

But yes, the plan is to delay getting the 5th as late as possible to give me options.

Just keep in mind when you do obtain 5 leafs and are prompted to select a reward, you have a limited amount of time to choose it.

Some poor QF data analyst may be a little perplexed by how popular the offsets have been in Tasmania..
On a serious note, this might be “enhanced“ - so it could make sense to get that Tassie property immediately.

I am guessing that QF doesn't care. Their success metric will be in bragging about the number of their members who have signed up for the "green" program, thereby allowing QF to say they are playing their part in saving the planet. If anything, they will like the anomaly as it increases the numbers.

I would hazard a guess that not many more than the folks in this thread are chasing QFF Green Tier status (and I could probably end my sentence there...), AND using the apple isle manoeuvre to get there 🤓

Cheers,
Matt.

I found a new Tassie weekender last night... Now waiting for #2 & #3 🌿 to post.

48 hrs later and 🌿🌿🌿. I know some peeps have had issue getting their leaves to post but mine seem to be consistently arriving 48 hrs after the relevant activity. Which is reassuring that I should be able to rely on the timing of the final leaf next year(!) when I “Give back” - let’s hope charities aren’t feeling the pressures of inflation by then!

Now, can I use my “apologies” voucher to book a flight that I want and pay a modest offset?

I should be on track for 50 SCs for 5230 pts and $1. If I’ve calculated that correctly.

I called the call centre a week ago and today I received an email saying "We have reviewed the flight under booking reference and noticed that it was not booked through qantas.com. Hence, this makes it ineligible as a carbon offset flight that counts towards Green Tier."

This was booked through CWT and they certainly accepted my points to offset the flight. Has anyone else had any luck with a CWT booking?

I’m having the same issue, but with a different corporate TA.

I’ve written to them pointing out that:
1. The terms of their offer do not exclude agency bookings.
2. Their FAQs specifically outline how to offset a flight after booking and I relied upon this in my decision to offset my flight.
3. The confirmation message after I offset my flight, explicitly said I had completed one of the required milestones. I also attached a screenshot.

Is it possible to tell how you have obtained each of the green leaves? I have 3 of a self-obtainable 4 leaves, but completed 4 things… I need to find out which one failed / is pending.

Cheers,
Matt.

Yep. App or website under your profile and click on Learn more. It’ll show which ones have come through.

It takes around 48 hrs to show. Plus I received an email later confirming each.

Can t see it on Android app. Is that on iphone?
On the adroid app, it shows 5 completed leaf, but doesnt show the progress in this membership year where I only completed one challenge.
On the website, I see 1/5 leafs, but cant find any details. Same when opening the website from mobile

Yes, iPhone app -> My QFF -> “Acheive Green Tier“ (at top) -> LEARN MORE

If you don’t see the details, logout and login in.

On website, it’s under the “STATUS CREDITS” section -> “Unlock Green Tier” -> “LEARN MORE”.

Either way, there will be a “DONE” and Green leaf against each of the 5 sub categories completed.

I was trying to figure out where it is, and still couldn't find it on the iOS app / mobile browser... so decided I'd try on my laptop once I got home. By the time I did that, the 4th leaf was coloured in! Happy days. Not bad for day 2 and a half of the new membership year.

I'm also on the same boat. I'm on my way to requalify my Green Status and I'm not sure which one of the leaves had failed. I can't seem to find out on the website. It's been 2 weeks since I completed those activities.
