Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

I suspect nearly everyone in this thread feels the same way. The $/SC rate is the only appeal.
I'm in it for the 10,000 FF points. I don't collect SCs as I will never have enough for status unless something pretty radical changes in my life.

With a bit of luck I am about to complete the five leaves for this year. Does anyone know how to change the preference for earning for Green Status? I had SC’s last year, but this year don’t need them and would prefer the 10k points. TIA

Given it pops up similarly to Loyalty Bonus, I'd expect you to be able to pick it manually every time.

So this past week they finally fixed website for those of us in second year of green tier so we can track progress. Im on 4 out 5, just need to do survey of course they haven't fixed the app to allow you to do survey once each frequent flyer year, so need to call up on Monday.

I messaged yesterday about getting the final tick for the quiz, I'll see how long that takes

Does anybody know if you can satisfy both the "Give back" and "Choose sustainable" categories in a single transaction by making a donation (eg to UNICEF) and adding the "climate positive delivery" to the cart, purchasing both items at the same time?

Awesome thanks all. Then I just need to offset my upcoming flight(s), which I didn't do at the time of booking. I have a reward return ticket on Bangkok Airways. Based on what I've read I'm expecting difficulties with getting the leaf for that trip.

How much is the offset for that? If you have time, it might be safer to offset a simple QF domestic flight for a couple of bucks.

I'm interested to hear the answer, but nearly all PG routes are roughly the same distance or shorter than SYD-BNE ($1 offset)

BKK-HKG and BKK-MLE are the two outliers on the PG route map, but still roughly equivalent to SYD-CNS and SYD-PER, so the offsets shouldn't be more than $5 on these I would guess.

I'm hoping for a DSC offer sometime February-April next year and to book a return domestic trip using that and offset the flights.

Qantas tells me I can offset that trip for 408 points. That's for two people, BKK to CNX return. Seems fairly reasonable - 102 points per person per flight

Worth a try.

My NZ reward flights next week (2x PAX) is over 1K pts for 2x2. Not a huge amount but I wasn’t game to waste them either.

I recall there was less difficulty / delay when paying cash vs points on the offsets... but the terms don't stipulate this as required, so if you're set on using points vs cash, then just do it

I only get the option to pay with points when offsetting an existing booking…

Also not in the Ts&Cs but there‘s a theory (observed by some but refuted by others) of a min spend to trigger the leaf (~$1+). Not sure what the pts equivalent is.

I think the pay cash option is only there if you do it as a part of the booking process, and not later when you find them via MMB

Funny you should mention that. The ability to “offset” during the booking process appears to have been enhanced! I can’t get that option at the moment.

i just tried several dummy bookings (SYD-MEL return) and I get the usually insurance, car, hotel add ons but no offset.
