Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Ok so a word of warning to anyone who is feeling inclined to retrospectively offset a booking - when I requested to offset my booking via qantas website, it cancelled my entire booking.

I had a Y booking that was one of the most painful booking experiences that I've had. I was feeling like offsetting it for good karma (without any expectations that I will actually be able to get a leaf). Coincidentally, as soon as I sent the request through, my booking reference stopped appearing in my account, and the linked Emirates booking reference was deleted too.

Took a few calls this morning around the globe of Qantas call centres, and finally found someone in Cape Town who realised that indeed there was a problem and that my flight needed to be re-ticketed.

He didn't know the reason why the booking had dropped off... but coincidentally as soon as the booking was reticketed and restored, then the points for the offset (which, strangely, had not been deducted until this time) instantly deducted from my account surprise surprise.

So my advice would be that if you are feeling inclined to do something good and offset your flight retrospectively, maybe look at other companies other than Qantas who can offset it for you.

I'm guessing this is an Emirates codeshare - I haven't flown or offset one of those personally but given the likely length of the flight, I'm guessing it wasn't cheap. I don't know how on earth the offset should have had any impact on ticketing

I have an existing booking in My Account with the option to offset using Qantas Points (not $$$). Has anyone actually had any luck in obtaining a green tier leaf for offsetting flying using Qantas Points instead of paying $? It's 94 points for each leg Gold Coast to Sydney (total 188 pts). Surely if the leaf is not awarded after 7 days you should have recourse to take this up with Qantas?

What would be the best method to contact Qantas to award the leaf manually in this instance? Is there an email address or feedback form that goes to the Green department within Qantas?

Feedback and complaints form. I have done an offset using points but I can't recall now which one actually gave me the green tick. Others have suggested it's whether or not points are awarded for purchasing the offset that triggers the green tick. These take some time to come through

I retrospectively offset a flight 2 weeks ago and took the flight on Thursday last week. Still the green tier has not been realised.

I have spoken to qantas (Fiji) and also messaged feedback@wellbeing about it but no response.

Should I keep calling qantas to get this sorted? Or just wait patiently? No rush I guess

Should you talk to the Frequent Flyer support team rather than the Fiji booking agents?

Have you been awarded a few dozen points for the cost of the offset yet?

Ok, I’m getting ancient. My memory is failing. I have two leaves for this year, and I’ve forgotten which activities I undertook to get them. I’m really surprised that there doesn’t seem to be a page that tells you which activities you have completed, or is there? Does anyone have any tips? I’m not ‘green ‘ enough to want to do the same thing twice.

You should have some attainments of some kind to help with figuring it out? Actually, maybe only if you used some cash together with points. Have a look in activity history from the start of your membership year and forward - a la:

Thank you very much Matt , that makes sense and I just found them. It’s strikes me as having been a bit of a marketing thing that they’ve dropped the ball on. It’s not even easy to find how to complete the remaining tasks. I mean I have, but it takes a lot of looking around you would think they would have one ‘green’ page from
where you can do everything

That's true - and there will also never be a line like this one, to help you confirm every one in your activity, either 😜 :

First timers still get the category list and what’s ”DONE” and what’s left to do. Those in their 2nd year of Green don‘t get the detailed dashboard. Hopefully it gets fixed at some point (maybe with a new quiz in the WB app…

It would be nice also if they enhanced my QF PC dashboard so I can see my QF Wine vouchers…

The FF support team is based in multiple call centers also - I called them back today and this time I got the Philippines. They tried to tell me the flight had been canceled, and then I told them that was strange because they let me on the plane anyway :)

Qantas customer support (all sections) seems so clueless... I persevered, and they are going to email the green tier (that's what the last person told me) and I got a reference number this time.

For anyone struggling to get a response from Qantas regarding a missing leaf, I had success via Facebook messenging.
I already had a running conversation going with them regarding a number of other stuff ups, so I mentioned the issue of the missing leaf in the chat and it got resolved.

That was for my 4th leaf.... Now I just need to chase them up for the 5th leaf... Here we go again 😁

I might try that avenue to get my missing leaf for offset of flight sorted. Thanks

Looks like Qantas pushed some changes on their webapp / mobile app.
I can now see the breakdown of the green tick I did, and did not complete. This wasn't the case for members that already acomplished green the previous year. Wondering what other changes, if any, got pushed.

I'll probably try and retain Green tier just to get another 50SC towards LTG. If it weren't for the SC I wouldn't bother.

Unrelated to GT, but my PC page finally updated to show vouchers…

That seems to be the consensus and an easy (and cheap) 50 SCs!
