Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

I tried this for a Qantas flight booked through Aadvantage and it didn’t work. The points never even got deducted from my account, just a message to say that my request to offset the flight had been received.
This happened to me on a QL flight. I rang and complained and the leaf appeared a couple of days later.

It has changed back and the quiz has returned. Some people including myself recently had the quiz reset in the Wellbeing app for the second year. I was able to complete it last month to get a leaf for my second year of green tier.

I noticed it there this morning and answered it again. Damn, got one wrong 😑

Not sure if this goes here or under trip reports.

Managed to get a spot in today's green tier event at Four pillars gin distillery and it was well organised and run.

The class was run in a private room within the facility

There was an assortment of canapes which were pretty good and we got a marmalade jar to take home made from gin-steam oranges left behind from gin making.

We got how to make two coughtails: Aviation and Negroni

And everyone got a discount at the shop

Since there is a green tier event, they shared some insights into the sustainability aspects of the distillery some of which was quite interesting

Very nice event, I was there also.
Been previously at a Four Pillars event in that same room, they run a very smart good program.
Bought the apple n rhubarb gin for a take home.

The green initiative's we're very clearly explained and can see why Qantas onboard this company. Their gin will be for purchase at some point on the Qantas wine online store.

Has been posted on ozbargain now so would move quickly if you intend to, at risk qf start enforcing the exclusions.
Just to add a datapoint, somehow I never realised how straightforward it is to get Green Tier until spotting the Ozbargain post. Already had 1 leaf from the quiz from way back, so I did the donation, delivery offset and offset that carless holiday house in TAS that I definitely have, with the FIRSTSHOP code, then offset an existing flight booking.

The flight offset wasn’t the best value from the pov of purely doing it to obtain Green Tier, as the only QF flight I have coming up for the forseeable is a transcon J redemption for 4 pax, so it cost ~1800 points (seems there is no option to offset only 1 pax or pay $$ when doing it on an existing booking). I don’t need the SCs as I won’t have enough to move up this year, so I selected the 10k.

Did all that on Friday arvo, the three market order related leaves went green on Sat, the flight offset one went green today and I was instantly able to select the 10k.

Don’t know why I’m surprised it just worked but happy not to have to chase them up.

All up that’s a net gain of ~5,500 points for a total cost of $21, which seems like a no brainer to me.

Mine has come through as well which I only did on Friday last week.

YMMV but me paying the offset for an upcoming flight for 3 pax meant they all got the green leaf for that. So if they can each get the leaf for doing the quiz, then do the donation/home offset/sustainable delivery thing, then easy and cheap points or status for all.

Ah thanks for the tip. You’re spot on.

And by some incredible coincidence, everyone else in the family also has a 1 person, car free holiday home in TAS that they will shortly be offsetting…

Offset for home and car isn't working for me. Payment isn't going through but my cards have holds placed on the each time I've clicked the payment button.

Anyone else have this issue?

Have the rules changed? I just got off the phone to try and fix the green tier issue (requal 2nd year), no option to choose.

I called up and the CSA said that it's only effective from 21 days into your new membership year, anyone had the same advice provided?

I tried the email route and got a very confused response so that doesn't work either:

We understand your situation and upon further checking you can allocate your Green tier status for your next membership year.

I don't think they do understand 🤷‍♂️

What is only effective 21 days into new membership year?

Going with the flight offset on my 3rd go around with Green Tier...

Will try offsetting an existing flight on the Qantas bookings but I heard it's hit or miss.

If I book at Jetstar flight on the Jetstar website, does it show up under the Qantas bookings? If not, a classic reward flight with QF points will have to do then.

I also qualified for the second year last week but hasn't received the option to choose the reward since. I gave the Freq Flyer team a call earlier this morning and told the same thing on having to wait up to 21 days for the option to show up.

Funny thing is I'm short of 1 SC from platinum with my membership restarting in June, and the lady said if I still don't receive the green tier reward close to end of this month, I can call them back and they move me to platinum without having to fly? Sounds like something nice for them to offer but has this ever happened to anyone? Just a bit skeptical.
