Another thing they have taken away one world privlages, you dont get tem flying Jetstar!

So the 330 refurbs rated a mention in Leslie's email. What progress has been made on that so far?

BA and CX have Y+ on their planes of a similar size to the A330s. Seven hour red eye flights will sell a Y+ cabin... And non-changeable discount Y+ is normally more than flex Y. I would have been happy to buy Y+ SIN/HKG-PER if QF offered it. Just not buying exPER.

Opinion:
QF messed up the A330 configuration initially and still don't get the point of yield per seat.

Happy wandering

Any idea what happens to the QF Lounge in the Int Terminal at PER? Hand it over to CX to run?

Agreed with that point on the 333's.

Would your point include the 332's?

Y+ would not be very useful domestically for QF. I don't know the split on 332/333 internationally. But an almost 300 seat airplane (current configuration) could afford 3 or 4 rows of Y+.

An intl 332 is currently in 36J/199Y configuration, the 333 holds 30J/267Y

"Qantas is changing, but what will never change is our commitment to rewarding you for your loyalty, whether on the ground, or in the air."

....

Maybe it's just me, but I found this email in poor taste. Qantas staff have just learned that 5000 of them will lose their jobs, and we're getting an email saying don't worry, we're building new lounges and your points won't expire.

they could at least have waited til tomorrow.

The 738 was built to specifications from a major USA carrier to meet USA trans-continental routes of greater than 2500 mile (2200nm) range. So PER-SIN is certainly within economical range for a 738.

Yep, and the Qantas 738's already do BNE-KTA, which is only 87 miles shorter, and in the westerly direction maybe even a longer journey (timewise) after accounting for conditions at altitude.

But .... a narrow body would probably take it out of competition with SQ and in competion with JQ/3K, TR and Scoot.

Obviously this is not for Perth based loyal customers ....

Welcome to the ADL club where QFi services you via another east coast capital city.

Look at the bright side, you earn more SCs.

Re: Qantas is changing, but what will never change is our commitment to rewarding...

Flying Fox Adelaide is likely to be next. I guess we could fly over for a Villies pie and a Haigh's chocolate bar before heading off on QFI before Adelaide gets shut down for international flights as well.
The shock of Perth having no Qantas international flights shows me how the top level of Qantas needs to be removed and replaced with less Sydney centric management.

I also have received this email and considering cashing out points but unsure

The crazy thing is compared to the opposition heading to Asia and Europe, Sydney gets token QF flights which typically have PITA schedules.
With last rites served on QFi for the part of the country not on the east coast, at least those customers can move on and get real service and scheduling.
I also don't understand why QF keep rolling out fabulous lounges whilst downgrading the inflight experience.

Qantas FF program? Is it just me or has Qantas now changed the number of points required a for a flight? Last week I checked Perth to Manchester UK return and from memory it was 112000 points? But today it is over 227000 points?

I thought the point was to start making money, not lose more...

No they haven't changed that drastically - I am guessing the availability has changed in the period since your last look

Whilst it is certainly not good that QF are showing 5,000 the door, the email to me screams "we're still business as usual". That is not exactly a bad thing to show when there is a major shakeup inside a company. That said, I do agree, some of the wording was a little weaselly.

Wonder if VA would status match????

Tried them last week. Received the response Tuesday: Unfortunately, the Velocity Status Match promotion has now ended and we are unable to process your status match request.
