re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

I got an email this morning from the manager of Business Direct asking me to complete a survey about the online experience.
As it requires Chrome and involves an App download it's not the most user friendly online survey request but I'll give it a go :)

Very conscientious! I admire your commitment.
Haven't used AQ since the free sign-up - Staples is much more expensive than local supplier

Got the same and although it requires greater than usual effort, I thought I'd give it a go.

Downloaded the add-on and got started OK, but after it stopped for the third time on the first 'task' because it said my internet connection was too slow (its not great, but manages to stream videos OK), I gave up.

Oops!! I'll probably try it using my 4G from hotspot then.

Make sure you look at the instruction video when you open the add-on thingy. Bizarre. Not sure what its supposed to show, but it demonstrated that the 'instructor' wasn't familiar with what he was trying to show.

Got the same "internet is too slow" message. Will try the phone option.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

I'd like to see them have the target based on prior travel with an uplift as a carrot, rather than a set level for all. I'm the same as others above - not getting anywhere near the 20K, but I hang out for the bonus point offers and transfer the points across to my QFF account. Having a number of ABN's help ;)

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Did the email/App survey tonight. Utterly painful with the dodgy slow connection notices. Single login for Qff and business direct. flyer management functions on the QF website via single login instead of Aquire website.
The work through survey was clearly not designed by someone with much experience using the website. On the second task clicking anywhere on the page skipped to the next step. for example no warning that telephone fields were not filled in. Didn't have much chance to look around the mock up either because it skipped ahead when clicking to check functionality. Forgot to give feedback about gift voucher usage. Able to see both person and business bookings when logged in. Have to nominate if a booking is personal or business when starting. Not sure if ABN can be added later.

Looks like the system they used for the Epiqure website testing session. Have tried to uninstall the App, but it's not showing as an extension in Chrome. No idea what that is about.

Oh and adding new users, without a QFF number, under the test system will have them allocated a QFF number and sent a form to join for free.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

A quick question. I was under the impression that provided you book 7 days out, you get 10% off a business fare. Is this correct?

I tried this morning and saw this (screenshot). Aquire deal on flex but not on business.

Only on Business Saver "D" class
If there's Business Sale or any other "I" class fare available then that's the one that you'll see, no discount on those.

But there is no discount at all, "D" , sale or otherwise! Would I be correct in understanding you are saying that there were no "D" class fares left?

So the 7days bit is a bit of a furphy. Should I read it as "outside of 7 days or until "D" sells out, whichever comes first?

It's 10 days for J fares
7 days for Y fares

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

I have found routes/flights before with no business savings... I guess it all comes down to what is available.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

I received an email from Aquire not long ago offering me 5000 bonus points if I complete a new purchase, that earns at least 100 points from any partner.

The fine print is as follows: † To be eligible for the 5,000 bonus Aquire Points, Aquire Members must (a) register their ABN for the promotion by clicking the ‘Register for offer' button, (b) earn at least 100 Aquire Points with any partner listed on www.aquire.com.au/partners between 8 September 2016 and 8 October 2016.

Am I correct in assuming that as Qantas is a partner, I just have to credit a flight during the period?

I ask as I thought it might not be so, and went back to my old Staples account to buy some printer toner. I made the purchase, but then got curious that I couldn't see my ABN on the invoice, so emailed customer support to be told that I had a standard account and I would need to sign up for a new account for it to be business. I find this odd, as I previously earned Aquire points through Staples, so my account must have been downgraded from business to personal at some stage. Therefore, just a heads up to others.

If Qantas doesn't count, I may go park my car for a couple days, pre-booked of course ;)

On PARTNERS page scroll down to Show All Partners. Qantas is top of the list.
Staples still shows as a partner.

I've had this exact same issue with Staples, and it took almost 5 months to get the points posted as they insisted I had a personal account. Worked hard to show them that not only had I earned points before, but that I'd received an email from Aquire acknowledging that I'd spent with Staples. They also lost my first account, so I had to sign up a second time, and definitely signed up as a business. Theyre hopeless.

I haven't received an Aquire email thanking me for spending with Staples, but I may just cut my losses on the mess there. There's principle, but all that'll happen is I'll abuse the customer service for screwing up my account, when it clearly wasn't their fault (though I'd imagine they could fix it). I'll close my Staples account, re-open a business account and perhaps never give them money again. They weren't even the cheapest... I just wanted 5k points :(

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Regus also periodically loses your Acquire link and stops crediting points for months on end unless you keep on top of them.

And no, they don't credit any points you miss out on because they spontaneously unlinked you.

This program design is irritating. Good thing they dropped the annual fee, because there's no way I'd pay for it.
