Taken Qantas Lounge Invitations

Hi all, not so much an offer / request for lounge invitations, but moreso a question if possible.

I have linked a lounge invitation to a flight date that is a few months beyond the expiry date of the lounge invitation.

I've received an email with a QR code for that lounge access - would this still be valid considering that I've linked it to a flight prior to its expiry (ie. the invitation has been "booked"?)

On the terms and conditions page - https://www.qantas.com/au/en/freque...mplimentary-invitations-terms-conditions.html it states the below:

6.1 Invitations must be used before the expiry date which cannot be extended.

I have a Qantas Premier Platinum card and my anniversary date is in July, so I should get another few invitations in July, but just wanting to ask if possible.

I did this yesterday (thank you AIRwin and friend for the pass), linked on the 9th (and received confirmation email), expiry 10th, travel 11th.
But I can't confirm whether it would normally work as the very pleasant (yes really!) but I think inexperienced Lounge person didn't scan the QR code on the confirmation email (which you always have to show). Also, the flight was only several hours after expiry... perhaps there's leeway to account for those on the other side of the international date line. JQ flight.

The thought occurs since this QR code system that seems to be a thing for JQ is in use (which is different to for QF flights where one gets no real indication, not even on the BP iirc) then it's entirely possible the QR provides an authorisation code or something that may be valid or not. It all depends on how real time the system is in terms of verifying if it's a pass that is still valid or not. The above anecdote suggests perhaps not (but the QR was not scanned).

I'm not sure I'd rely on this as a "this will work" guarantee, but there seem to be enough reasons to feel it may. I wouldn't chance it though

My son has linked his lounge pass to a JQ international flight. The pass will expire before the flight. He does have the congratulations email and code. Hoping it will be fine?

If the pass expires before the flight, I don't think they would accept it. But you never know unless you try

I would be optimistic of success. Qantas prevent this happening with QF flights by validating the expiry date of the pass v the flight date in the linking process. However the way passes are linked for JQ flights is different and this test is not applied.

ah ok. my "experiences" are a few years back (never had to use one myself since the paper days for obvious reasons) but I do recall used to be nothing obvious to indicate a pass. Glad if this has been addressed somehow.

That doesn’t make sense? Do you mean you have have 2 passes expiring on March 24 2023?
