It is a domestic service and I have no idea why QF does not treat it as such. However if they want to call it international I will take the food and free drinks!;)
It would be much easier if NZ applied to be the 7th and 8th states of Australia. :p

Although I agree with you, QF must believe there is a enough difference between Australian domestic and NZ domestic to launch OLCI in Australia only. Maybe when they launch International OLCI they will include NZ domestic.

Is QF107/108 treated as a domestic or international service?

JohnK,

Wash your mouth out. ....anyway I'm not sure they could afford the dowry :!:
I donno, the exchange rate's pretty good! ... if you stay at the in-laws ... :p

Now how many clams was that to the banana?

I was referring to the LAX-JFK or JFK-LAX sectors.
JFK is an international extension. You cannot get a JFK-LAX ticket. I never checked my status credits to see if they gave me two lots, but it was same flight number JFK-SYD so should be one. So once again no help from me:oops:

I did say apply not that they would be accepted! We would need to have at least one referendum possibly two.

Let's not talk about bananas. When I was in Nelson in April bananas were $A15.00 at home and $A1.50 in NZ :!:

Hence, I have not eaten bananas for months , and now I don't even miss it!!
As a protest, I won't be rushing out to buy them when the price eventually drops.

Back OT!

So how many bananas would be needde to buy one of those Lenovo notebooks that Qantas are offering for those who Check in online during November and register. :?:

(No point in worrying about Clams as it's only open to those with Oz addresses  )

Maybe, but the Australian constitution does not require referenda in Australia (although interestingly does require a referendum in NZ). BTW if NZ joined Australia it would be one state.

Why only one? Surely the South Islanders would want to be classified as a separate state so they get their own sport teams, oh and be free from the "JAFA" dominated political representation.;)
Oh I am eating on my Ecquadorian banana from Pak n' Save that I got for 99 cents a kilo. I think I will have a banana smoothie with my dinner.

Nah - mainlanders know when they're onto a good deal (get more in benefits than they pay in taxes and guaranteed a minimum number of electorate MPs).

Getting this thread back OT ... I hope to be doing my second OLCI this Sunday. I will be in the East Islands in a fortnight's time; I guess I can then despair abour the lack of Kiwi OLCI  if I so desire.

$29 printer and $49 ink cartridge, is it?

I like to paste BPs into my travel journal (along with maps, cards, pix from brochures etc) and yes, it's nice to have a quality product.
Almost! It is a $150 Lexmark printer and to replace the black and colour cartridges costs ~$110.

My first ever QF online checkin for tomorrow's 2:20pm SYD-HBA flight.

Already allocated 4C. :D

Interestingly enough, 4C was the seat preallocated for me for both my flights this week; Seq #3 outbound and Seq #1 on the return.

With the outbound flight on Monday, I had nearly the whole WHY cabin to select from Sunday Evening and Monday Morning. (Unlike DJ, with Qantas' OLCI, you can change your selection). However, early Monday afternoon (4 hours before the flight) the seating available for selection greatly dimished to about 20 seats.

This gave me the impression that possibly, some limited preallocation occured 24 hours before the flight with the remainder between 8 and 4 hours prior.

Hi all, I have been busy recently but had to share this with you.

The other day I used OLCI about 22 hours prior to flight PER-ZNE and was allocated 1F. My prefernece being forward isle, I thought all was good. Checked in luggage at airport, boarding was checked and baggage receipt sticker were added to it. On boarding scanner read it no problems, and on aircraft the FA looked at it and said first row, window seat on left. Whilst I was awaiting door closure a guy walks up and says "I think your in the wrong seat as thats my allocated seat, whats your seat number?" I gave him a blank look and said 1F and started to show him my BP, when he pointed out I was actually sitting in 2F. Problem was, much to the other pax's within ear shot, there was no 1F, Where 1DEF were supposed to be was a rather large bulkhead with the galley fodd trolleys stored in it. I heard the FA telling a ground staffer abot the problemand stating " that it has been happening because the OLCI doesn't have the correct configuration for the planes.

Cutting a long story short, I ended up having to sit in 2E which was a middle seat. Then we had to wait for 20 mins, and listending to the FA's they were trying to find a failure to board (who was supposed to be in row 14 and several FA's had been down to ensure they hadn't slipped on board) who had also been paged in the terminal several times. They were getting ready to offload their bags when the name came over the ground staff members radio, it was me that had been calling, and were in the process of trying to offload my baggage. So I pointed out to them I was actually onboard and my BP had been scanned. Eventually it was sorted and we still managed to get in on time.

Due to problems experience on the forward trip I avoided OLCI on return, and was allocated 8A. Interesting for a WP, plus was the only row with 2 pax seated imediately next to each other on the AC side of thre flight. I suspect the Seat allocation gremlin had again allocated me 1F, but it was picked up somewhere and I was allocated the most forward window seat, which was then 8A. I am pretty sure there were very few if any CL, WP's on the flight, considering plane was only half full.

Have sent feedback to QF, will await their response. So a warning to any CL, WP or SG's flying PER to ZNE, PBO, KTA and PHE or return as you may have some seat allocation problems at the front end of the plane

I'll gladly take 4C anytime. I guess I will find out seq # when my boarding pass is issued at checkin.
