Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I had an overall very positive experience on Sunday, SYD-LHR. My points upgrade cleared just over 7 days in advance, in time for me to select my favourite seat. F check-in was then very helpful in sorting out an issue with my passport with Canberra over the phone.

The F lounge dragon asked me if I wanted to eat and then walked me to a table in the restaurant and told them to look after me (only downside was the decanter was MIA).

Then in DXB, I received an escort from the plane to the lounge (this was slightly embarrassing as I've done this walk a dozen times before without said escort, but when we got there, there was a really panicked-looking Aussie desperate for assistance from Qantas. So I happily gave him my escort, and hopefully she was able to solve his problems ☺).

On the DXB-LHR leg, I had Mr OJ from my previous post again. He remembered me (unfortunately I think it was more than just the iPad, as he only "remembered" the guy behind me later in the flight ☺) and proactively suggested apple juice! I did talk to him later in the flight, and found out we had a lot in common, so no hard feelings.

No one mentioned P1 the entire trip, but it did seem like they were making a special effort.

NB: all this was in F not whY, which could make a difference.

All I ever get is "oh, you're platinum one, you travel more than us". Other than that nothing different. Wife with free platinum helps

Variations on the above for me too about flying a lot or usually with food service "Is there anything you haven't had before?" kind of thing.

The movies is the one that gets me, last qf flight was 2 days into the month and no new movies
You could load some alternatives onto your tablet before you fly. I guess the Wi-Fi streaming will help you if flying domestically once that's available.

Won't be long before all airlines won't allow laptops or tablets on the plane, crazy

I'm trying to come to terms with this - it is a bit of a nightmare.

In my P1 days and now in my GGL days I rarely watch the IFE, mainly because I have seen most of what is on there so am reliant on my iPad. :(

I'm ok for now as I don't fly to the US from Dubai but who knows where the madness will end

er... not too sure what IFE/movies discussions have to do with P1 experiences? :D

If you fly on QF metal enough to reach P1 you will almost certainly have been exposed to the complete range of IFE QF has to offer. :p ...although there is not much QF can do in reality I agree.

Did you check out EK's IFE? That's what QF can do.

..and EY and to be honest same issue for me. :( What I haven't already seen I invariably don't want to see. With an iPad I am guaranteed my preferred viewing. I see it as an occupational hazard of spending long periods in the air.

I know I'm being a bit of a grump this morning (and I shouldn't given the win by my team last night :D ) but my point was that the "entertainment boredom" issue is not just a P1 one. You can be Plat or even Gold and be over all the options... that's all :) It's not exclusive to P1 or GGL etc.. just more of an experience :D

I'll go back to my corner now. I'm just sulking as I have no bookings :D

...errrr what has that got to do with P1 experiences. :p :p (Get on the internet and get cracking, you know you need to make trips!!! )

..but yes you are quite right entertainment boredom is not just a P1 issue but man alive 750 hours on an aircraft in a year sure does exacerbate it.

Thus it is relevant to P1 experiences.. if I make no trips I can't earn it (but I just requalified for next year so I don't need trips for 6 months lol) !!

:D

Assuming that everyone has a tablet and takes the tablet on their travels?
