Outside of the 100 SC rollover for plus tier members, no.
Those SC are still gained from flying.

That said this is a pretty limited program. It's simply not accessible to your average worker given the $s involved.
Just to confirm, do bonus points from CC sign ups contribute to points club or do they have to be earned through spend?
Nothing stopping a business owner from charging their corporate spend to a personal credit card though (subject to their card's limits, of course).Biz rewards points dont get counted towards this, so if you have the Amex Qantas Biz card... its no good
you need a personal card used for Biz to get the points to count
Assuming you are first eligible for the program, then yes.Earning status credits on award bookings alone is an attractive prospect.
Absolutely will cause some careful thinking, especially when you consider amex referrals, including the 60k promo going on at the moment. My membership year rolled over recently. Based on last year I would be "Points Club" but at present it shows I need another 140k to qualify.
This leads me to wonder: does it reset each anniversary and do you have to requalify each year?
May have to retime my CC earn and burn strategy.
0.45% of my points this membership year earned in the air so far. XDMy points earned on the ground = 600k. Earned in the air = 0.
Woolworths and other promotions (health insurance, Australian Super, etc) will be important to consider alsoUnderstand importance of non flight related revenue for QF, (particularly when noones flying) but agree this is next to useless to people who don't play the CC shuffle game or cant divert all their personal/corporate spend through point earning CCs and rather spend their time actually flying. Emphasis: per day, while lots of the material says 'per transaction'.Yes up to a limit of 125k points per "partner" per day
My SC balance has just jumped by about 500 SC, with all award flights taken since 06SEP19 having now accrued Points Club SC...
I went through and analysed mine; as I had an award flight early in my new membership year that didn't grant SCs. I hadn't hit 150k yet so I didn't qualify and it didn't count. Technically i would have qualified based on last year's points earn, but they haven't applied it to me.I think the poster was referring to the fact that Qantas appear to have gone back through your current membership year and figured out at what point you became eligible for Points Club, then credited SC for any Classic Reward Flights you took after that point. Essentially backdating any SC earn from this method...
Considering the size of fuel surcharges on international bookings, it may be cheaper, but not without foregoing some cash!Ahh as Max would say...missed it by thaaaat much!..OK so how about... someone could effectively reach WP without ever having to purchase an airfare..?
Can't wait to see the tables we'll come up with.Earning status credits on award bookings alone is an attractive prospect. Think about a QFF Gold status run that you can achieve for only a few hundred dollars in taxes.
To what?Would you like a referral?
It's not really "effectively WP" as you don't get Oneworld benefits or F Lounge access. I think it's more like "effectively Qantas Club".OK so how about... someone could effectively reach WP without ever having to purchase an airfare..?
Do you know if you had 125k points from Westpac, Bank of Melbourne and St George it would be 125k or 375k.Emphasis: per day, while lots of the material says 'per transaction'.
I've been restricted by this limit already, as amex sweep bonus points to your account on the same day that they sweep your normal transactions.
Do you know if you had 125k points from Westpac, Bank of Melbourne and St George it would be 125k or 375k.
I'm assuming it's 125k considering everything else but would be good to have some clarification.

Do these banks all transfer from the same place? If it was on seperate days i'd think you would be safe. If it was the same label on your QFF account, on the same day, it might hit the cap. But we won't know until we test. It's per transaction, so as long as your 125k points are all on separate cards (therefore, separate transactions) you would earn 375k towards your membership.
On the other hand if, for example, you had one single 375k point earning event, then only 125k of those points would count towards your club membership.

I just read a David Flynn article and he says:I qualified as Points Plus. As I am already LTG I would actually prefer to be at base level, then I would get 2 lounge invitations which I could gift to other people. I will get little to no benefit from the other stuff. Things get weird sometimes but such is life!
This whole points club just adds to an already convoluted FF scheme. I think they just get to the point where it becomes so complicated that people land up disengaging.
I just read a David Flynn article and he says:
"Points Club and Points Club Plus members who have also attained Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold or higher status won't receive the free lounge passes or Qantas Club membership, as they already enjoy lounge access by virtue of their status. "
So I wouldn't get the lounge invitations if I was a lowly Points Club member after all.
Still waiting for the lounge passes to show in account.
