Qantas Points Club Discussion

Currently sitting on 341,000 points, anniversary date is 31/10 so just 1 QF wine purchase (with bonus points) from Points Club Plus. I make Points Club each year easily through Cc spend, but this is the first time I’ve had PC + in my sights. Struggling though to see the value other than the sense of achievement? I’m WP until 31/10/23.

Maybe status credit rollover? But if you've hit WP without it, I suspect for most people in your position an extra 100 SC wont matter much.

PC+ does include a $100 Qantas Hotels voucher (versus $50), and an extra $50 Qantas Wine voucher. So if you use either of those services it could be worth $100 to you. Those are the two items I can think of that are worth it (and as others have noted some of the current Qantas Wine deals are worth it to accumulate points on their own).

Speaking of which, can anyone share how/when DSC (under the latest promo) have landed for award flights due to PC (without posting numbers)? Is it a seperate transaction?

That's how it looks like for the promo End March 2022 on a reward Q metal, as a separate transaction, a few days after the normal SC posted (same day as flying)

For those playing along at home, DSC credited today (5th) for two 3 Oct reward flights, as per @ChrisMars example.

That’s pretty much what I thought, net benefit a potential $100. Silly you can’t gift the club membership to a family member. Agree the current QF wine deals are pretty attractive though so I will attain PC+ just to tick it off the list.

There was some discussion here(?) off the back of a survey that PC+ might be enhanced for the better for WPs. Wait and see I guess.

Yep, the mixed doz do tend to have some good pts deals but there’s the risk they there’s something you’re not fond of.

I’ve got one of the white doz in my shopping bag. Trying to track down my PC wine voucher
So I go and buy a case yesterday and my PC bday wine voucher has literally just arrived by email now…🤬

Mine just arrived then, too. For last month :o

Edit: the minimum spend requirement appears to have been removed

On closer inspection, I don’t actually have the voucher number - it says go to “My Account” but I still can‘t see vouchers on my dashboard…

You should be able to see your vouchers in your points club status page. I can see the new one there, and some older one. One difference I notice is that there is no min 149$ spend explicitly specified. I assume that's a mistake, wondering if someone manage to use those new vouchers on a smaller than 149$ order

Supposed to but I’m still on the old page format. Don’t know why. Tried different browsers etc. No cigar (or wine in my case).

Ah yea, there is this, I remember needing to hit refresh 10 times to get the right page, I though it got fixed months ago. In case this help (I doubt), the direct link is https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/my-account/points-club.html and it might help to clear cookies (though if you tried other browser, will probably not).

My membership year ticked over this month. Today I received an email stating that my complimentary Qantas Wine vouchers have arrived. My birthday is several months away. So this implies that the Points Club Plus 2 x $50 Wine Vouchers are no linked to birthdays any longer.

However, even though the email states: "To view the voucher please log in to My Account", and on the Qantas My Points Club page it says:
Two $50 wine vouchers

Celebrate with two $50 Qantas Wine vouchers

Whether it’s champagne, shiraz or sauvignon blanc, enjoy a special treat with two $50 Qantas Wine vouchers. Vouchers will be in My account when you attain or retain Points Club or Points Club Plus.

I cannot find them in my QFF account or in my Qantas Wine account.

You’re probably in the same boat as me. My PC page just has the old “Your points club benefits” and the generic list of stuff….

SYD+1 also got the voucher email today (and no actual voucher) with an Apr bday. So definitely not linked to birthdays now. One mystery solved.

I contacted QFF about missing birthday (one) wine voucher on 26 September and received the below reply next day. Notification email with a link to My Account page showing two vouchers received after 4pm today. Vouchers both have codes starting 50PCPBWINE0922xx_xx

I am wondering if those vouchers are the bday vouchers, or just a "thank you for whatever we need to boost sales voucher". I am having a doubt for 3 reasons:
- It's not my birthday month. The t&cs still seems to indicate the bday voucher still exists.
- Unlike other years, the email doesn't congratulate on the bday
- The PCP voucher encoding is different. A normal PCP bday voucher starts with 50PCPBDAY. Those start with 50PCPWINE (side note, feels like only the last 4 alphanumerical character of the new voucher are unique, whatever is in front seems like it could be the same for anyone, feels like it's a bit weak, i.e. assuming there are 100k of those vouchers currently valid, it would only take 140 random attempts to guess one correctly imho)

So either Qantas got ride of the bday concept, and their t&cs will be eventually consistent, or it's a special bonus voucher.

The Ts&Cs just say you get the wine voucher (and hotel, QP) on attaining/retaining PC/PC+. Pretty sure they’ve dropped “birthday” already (possibly discussed earlier up thread).

Example of 2021 birthday voucher number (much longer alpha/numeric) plus min $149 spend:

Let's hope they will fix up missing hotels vouchers (I got no vouchers at all) at the same time.

On another measure - go you for getting a next day reply. I've emailed them twice and they ignored both.
