For those who have qualified for Points Club or Points Club Plus, it may be handy to know that classic awards booked during targeted 50% promotions also appear to be eligible for these bonuses. Given the targeted 50% promo seems to work similarly to DSC, I'd presume awards would also be eligible for DSC.

On Thursday I received retrospective SC credit for a SYD-MEL award booked while I had a 50% bonus SC promo active, and flown within the promo window. Today I've found some unexpected bonus SC have appeared in my account with the same "Let Qantas reward you" wording attached to usual 50% bonus SC.

I'm guessing Qantas will give targeted SC promos a rest until we have some light at the end of the tunnel for the airline industry, but when someone does happen to receive one, could you please post back to confirm whether the T&C have been updated?

My own account. I still require 2700 QF SC to retain P1. :D

Still not sure about the 4 squiggles counter issue, I have the latest version of the app.
Imagine if you could in theory qualify for (at best) WP with award flights only!
They definitely do. I had the two flights needed, after one lot of status credits arrived from a rewards flight it went to one, then the other rewards flight status credits arrived and it disappeared.

Excellent!

Maybe the 4 QF/JQ segments counter is for an older version of the app.
On the website they used to show it even after you have flown the 4 ~ squiggles.
Anyway, doesn't matter.

This is the new ASA, qualifying for status with DSC classics 😂

Is it possible to book Points club classic rewards with a gift voucher for the taxes?

I like your thinking, but I don't think so. You could book a classic reward during the promo booking window, and change dates for 5k point penalty later on (assuming there are seats available) to achieve a similar effect.

I bet the graphic designer called it a 'device' as opposed to a blob!

The term for that type of shape used to be a 'lozenge' in graphic design parlance ;) I remember older graphic designers using the term a lot... Perhaps these would be officially 'irregular lozenges'...

Just got two lounge invites despite being WP. Thanks Qantas!
You must have reached the first Points Club level. I give my lounges passes to family or friends, so they are indeed welcome. However as I am WP and attained Points Plus, I don’t receive Qantas Club membership as already have access. I understand their logic because QC is not allowed to be transferred. Along with FIFOs, there will be a lot more people in Qantas Clubs in the future!

I don't know about that. The passes/QC membership are only valid for a year and I don't think the airline industry (or greater economy) will have completely recovered in the next 12 months. There will be fewer scheduled departures and fewer pax needing to fly for the short-medium term, so I think existing lounge real estate will be ample even with this injection of eligible members.

Given the current economic climate I think Points Club has come at a good time for Qantas, it may encourage people to continue opening/spending on QFF earning cards (i.e. generating revenue) even while it's virtually impossible to fly, and encourage non FFs who've qualified for PC to book with QF when they are able to get back in the air.

Just tipped over to Points Club Plus with the monthly sweep from my Qantas Platinum card
Congrats!

when this C-19 mess is over.
I'm sure you are aware, the PC membership is valid based on your QF membership anniversary ... I'd keep an eye on that ... given that we are not sure when C-19 mess is going to be over and travel comes back to normal ..

Yeah, I'm good now until 30 June 2021, so I'm hoping for at least 6-8 months use out of it.

I've received 100 SCs at the start of my new membership year.

The wiping of my previous year's tally and the addition of these credits are not showing up in the Points Activity page yet.

I note that my Points Club Plus tally is already climbing, looks like they've included points posted since 15 March. Makes me feel a little better as I didn't get a status extension.
