Qantas Points Club Discussion

My membership year ended yesterday and as expected my status credits were wiped except for 100 carried over thanks to being Points Club Plus. I also expected by Points Club balance to be wiped, but instead it was reduced to 140,819. I can’t figure out where this figure came from. Is it normal for some points to be carried forward? I couldn’t see anything about it in the T&Cs. 85CDBD67-090F-4DA6-B41E-5F0BE9A89E91.jpeg

Another data point.

My membership year also ended 30 April with Points Club balance 211,170

Points Club balance after rollover 1 May is 40,407 and at 10pm tonight now includes 1000 Woolies points posted today.

Before that, last posting was 25 April. Not sure how this works...

It was only because they were printed ready for seat back pockets on aircraft, but with all flights cancelled another good idea was found. This was a one-off, so don’t hold your breath!
I've received two so may not be a one-off. It's full of advertising of course, so may (need to) continue being distributed for a while.

Same with me (30 April year end). I scraped in by the skin of my teeth for Points Club Plus right near the anniversary date, so around 350k. My balance now is 13,150. I can only assume it has something to do with a purchase used on Qantas Wine last week using points (which makes it stranger in in itself - points earning points??), however the balance is not identical, so unclear how the balance was arrived at.

Does anyone know if Points Club / plus members will have better access to Reward flight seats?
It wasn't an advertised benefit, however the club hasn't really existed long enough before travel was banned for us to know yet.

Every opportunity I've had to give Qantas feedback I said they should consider it. Does Q club get any preferential access? If so, plus might.

Unfortunately this was corrected overnight. My Points Club balance now only includes points earned since 1 May.

Qualified for Point Club over night when latest rcredit card sign-up bonus posted, my frequent flyer year ends 31 July, but it clearly states I enjoy point club benefits until 31 July 2021

Until I can fly again wont see much benefit as already had a free qantas wine membership via Amex and being Gold already had QC access. Assuming there are reward flights available next year it will be nice to earn some SCs on reward flights I guess. Will gift the lounge passes to family members,

I have to earn 1000 points in two weeks to achieve Points Club Plus.

Any good hacks on how to achieve this? The only instant QFF redeeming options I'm aware of is Woolworths Rewards conversion and BP. Any others? (all QFF credit card points have been awarded).

The challenge here is timing - most earning methods take 1-3 months for points to come through. The Terry White promo would have been perfect otherwise.

Worst case scenario, two cases of Qantas (Economy) wine would get you 1000 points for $96.

Do you happen to have any Uber Rewards points you could transfer across? (would need 3750 to net 1000 QFF)

Edit: You could also just buy the points for $56 - these do count towards Points Club qualification

I was in the same boat a few months ago. (See up thread). Terry White takes too long. I got a good price hamper from QFF Wines which given me what I needed. Red Planet almost got me there however, but you cannot rely on that. Purchasing some points was the other sure thing to get you the remainder.

Not impressed with this, little value to be had for me. I am in Points Club Plus but:
  • Got no Lounge Passes as I am Qantas Club Member now. So can't even give them away.
  • Qantas Club adds no value to me? Anyone that earns enough points for points club plus would be flying Premium Reward flights anyways?
  • Status Credit Rollover and Status Credit on Reward flights. I'm trying to find a earn table for Points Club Plus but nothing so far? (I think the article linked here had Points Club and not Points Club Plus table)?
  • Everything else is negligible

The SC earn rate is the same for both club tiers.

Scraped into Points Club this morning with two weeks to spare.

I didn't realise as a Gold that I wouldnt get the lounge passes, while I dont need them it would have been nice to give to friends.
