Qantas Points Club Discussion

I flew QF12 on 10 May - SCs arrived next day. Similarly, QF 11 over - SCs posted later that day.

Both QF Classic Rewards.
Interesting....the SC's are inconsequential for me short term, only for lifetime SC's, so will give it a little longer before chasing

Does your member year reset this month (May)? If so, that could be a legit reason to call and explain. If your member year ends June, you could wait the 14 days before calling - if required.
It's the end of June. So I'll wait a bit.

I'd call and get it fixed / pushed along as its a complete pain to sort after the member year is reset.

Yes, QF1 to London. Heading back next week on QF2.
This will mean I either make Platinum or just miss out before my year resets (that's why I'm so nervous about it)
Just a note that your SC's take effect as of the date the flights were taken, not when actually credited to your account. So you should still make Platinum regardless, but possibly not in time to take advantage of the benefits on your QF2 flight (if I understood correctly that you have sufficient SC's once QF1 credits).

Yes - exactly. Let me see about calling them this week. Thanks for the advice all.

Has anyone with PC had any pleasant surprises with award flights on JL? I haven't seen any reported, but thought I'd ask in case I'd missed them.

No dice on my two JL flights last month, but BA was very nice in this regard on the same OWA - almost makes up for the usurious carrier charges and the terrible J seats with no aisle access or storage on the A380.

First post... I qualified for PCP yesterday which will give me Qantas Club membership. I have this already though. Will they just add a year on top? Its still saying it expires Oct 2023
Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to AFF (or to posting here)! This isn't covered in the T&Cs, specifically, however it does refer to those who have or attain a QFF status that includes a lounge benefit (Gold & above), and that only one lounge benefit would be awarded. You don't gain anything from the PCP attainment, in addition. You could confirm with customer service, but I suspect that like those who have status already, that this is a PCP benefit that doesn't add anything for you.

Cheers,
Matt.

I interpreted the previous post was about paid QANTAS Club (aka QP) membership (not complimentary QP membership via Gold or higher etc).

Usually QF will defer the paid QP membership if a member attains status until they revert to Silver or below and then the residual QP membership clock starts ticking again.

I thought I saw other members mention something similar after attaining PCP. Hopefully one can chip in.

Yes I meant paid QC membership. I already have this, expiring Oct 2023. I wondered if they would add another year on top now I have PCP?

Yes, realised it was a paid membership, but didn't think of the deferred membership thing like when you attain SG or above. It's true, and may well play out that way. Worst case it could be used to renew in October for the same effect.

Cheers,
Matt.

Given that you've only just achieved PCP, give a few days to see what happens.

When is your QFF membership year end?

I would expect the comp QP to run for the remainder of this year and then some. Again, someone else who has been through this scenario might provide their experience.

If nothing changes within a week or two, you might try calling the QF PC people to check.
