Qantas Points Club Discussion

This keeps happening to me and it's getting rather annoying keeping up with them all. I have flights from 24 September still showing 0. Will give it 1 more week before complaining, but I had to complain last time so was hoping it would sort itself out.
Ah damn that sucks, guess we could be in the same boat then? :(

How did you complain last time, used the missing points form or contact them directly?

I have also been hit with the same issue with the domestic U flights earning no status credits recently.

I raised it to the frequent flyer team and they acknowledged an issue with the Points Club linkage. Yes, they acknowledge that we are supposed to earn status credits as PC members. I think it will need to be manually credited while sorting things out.

Is that a common thread with previous posters ie Dom "U" Biz CR flights not posting? Or both "X" & "U"?

I recently flew QFi "U" and both posted fine. I have a "X" dom flight next weekend.

Only U so far, would also note that the description was 'CLASSIC FLIGHT REWARD' instead of 'BUSINESS CLASSIC REWARD' like it is supposed to be.

The missing points form said that the flight had already been credited, so I had to email with a list of flights.

Last year it took me 11 months to have status credits for classic reward flights credited. QF had demoted me to not having Points Club at all, even though I had renewed PC+ !!! Many telephone calls and emails until it was fixed. Using the online form is of no use at all for classic reward flights. I have always kept my E-TKT and boarding passes until SCs are applied, and they were necessary as proof.

Apologies if this has already been asked before but thought I'd pose the question: do point transfers from hotel loyalty programs count towards points club status accrual? I've got some orphan Marriott points I'm planning on transferring over.

Yes, as far as I’m aware.

I similarly have some “orphan” Hyatt points that will expire by the end of December unless I burn or earn some more. I had contemplated transferring them a year ago but knocked PC out of the park and didn’t require them.

Meanwhile, I have a predicament with Hyatt points…

Yes they do. I transferred some Hilton points last year - of course they transferred incorrectly and it was a battle to get the missing points.

You can buy a coffee or something small at a Hyatt to keep your account active and points from expiring, if need be.

Yes, I think I knew that. Looks like they’re not a partner of e-Rewards - which is my go to hack for several programs!

slightly OT but I joined the US erewards and had no luck because I wasn't in the US and they wouldn't accept a VPN - how did you manage it

Yes, you need to be registered in a country that you’ll be in! I made that mistake with a Hilton variation.

But there is a .au version of e-Rewards. It was promoted via VA1.0.

I was trying to get some AA points and in the end just purchased some. It was cheaper to donate to a charity but they said that could be 90 days to credit and I'd left it too late

FYI, I just noticed one the e-Rewards sign up offers in the VFF app.

I have graduated from Points Club to Points Plus Club. I noticed on roll over that I did not get the 2 lounge invites which I use to get at Points Club roll over (which I gift to kids) - it is not clear to me whether the 2 invites apply to Points Plus Club (given it comes with complementary Qantas Club membership)....

Couple questions about Points Club Plus as it appears I'll be earning enough points this year to qualify:
  • How does the 100 status credit roll over work? Specifically I've got 180 status credits in my account as Platinum so won't be re-qualifying as Platinum this year. But does that mean that 100 of those status credits will roll over to next year?
  • How does the Qantas Club membership work for those who hold status? Specifically, if I'm a Platinum/Gold member who obviously cannot make use of the Qantas Club membership, does the membership pause whilst I hold status and then resume when I lose status (as is the case for paid memberships)?

The status credit roll over appeared next day after anniversary, which yes means 100 status credits appear as a roll over for your new membership year.
In terms of Qantas Club membership, if you already have access through gold/Plat, I do not think you get any benefit or pause - which is my concern as I did get value from the passes as PC, but if they disappear as part of PC+, I am worse off...
