Qantas Premium Entry at Brisbane Domestic

The hot food in BNE QP is often better than the J lounge, in my recent experience.
I think they ring the changes more in QP during the evening service, but I think at a more basic level. I have done the BNE lounge crawl, just to what's available.

The J lounge usually has soup, rice and some hot dish (eg curry). In many cases the curry is mostly sauce with hints of meat, if not completely vegetarian.

The QP generally has things like pies, chicken wings, potato wedges etc. Yes, only during peak times (eg around dinner).

Exactly my experience. I wasn't going to mention the curry (AKA soup if you get there late).

exact same experience here:

I did put a complaint in but never heard anything back.

The big servery looks so sad.
Definite not operating.
Neither is the buffet in front of it.
Side buffet in alcove is running.
White soup in bain marie and in soup tub.
Ok, sorry to waffly.

The "side buffet" as you call it is the main buffet.

The one in front of "The Oven" was just for condiments or some pre-plated meals from the specialty menu. It worked better when it was "The Cantina". It's never been a buffet as such.

I never really liked the Cantina with its Mexican food, but it did add variety.

If you have access to the BNE QFd J lounge, via QFd BNE premium entry and screening, via the "special" escalators, you can visit both the BNE J lounge and also the BNE QP, as no one checks QP entry, once you have gained entry to that area of the QF at BNE airport.
If you have only got QP entry, then you will need an eligible class of travel, or QF SG or higher to enter the BNE QFd J lounge.
I am satisfied anyway now, having visited the 2 lounges last Fri.

No, I didn't take a pic of the side buffet/annex, as there were too many stragglers there.
That was a pic of the plants facing from the high up bar seats, facing towards the non operational cantina.
I don't dare take too obvious pics.
OT, now that QR is member of both VA and QF FF systems, I might do a one way ADL - AKL sector with QR, either earning VFF/QFF points, and then coming back, do QFi NZ- BNE/MEL, to ADL.
Maybe, later on next year, I will try that lounge again, might do a through QFi short hop J booking from AKL/CHC/ZQN to BNE to ADL.
Or do the NZ to MEL to ADL sector.

The QFd BNE J lounge and QP is a bit bare (food wise), as of now, their excuse would be due to covid, but more so I guess, cost cutting, which they won't admit.

The premium entry appears to be closed more often than not.
