Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Are you implying that's not the case? Because it absolutely is.

Quite a few airlines are no more - Alitalia, Flybe, LATAM Argentina, Cathay Dragon, Air Asia Japan, Tigerair Australia

The list of airlines that declared bankruptcy / voluntary administration is even longer - including VA (which is arguably a new airline similar to ITA), Virgin Atlantic, South African Airways, Avianca, Thai Airways, Interjet, Norwegian, Philippine Airlines ...

Others are mortally wounded as well. A little economic wobble will probably finish them off.

I haven't seen that much gushing
Jindabyne dam.
The Jindy gushing was measured, calculated, and regulated according to tight conditions.
I suspect the gushing about Sunrise by the usual airline review gushers will be less measured and calculated. They will be tightly regulated though - by the airline - If you don't gush enough, you don't come back....

free wifi
I'm a bit skeptical... I think this will have a little ✷=fairer and simpler.

Maybe free data - enough to read one email, or free but it takes the whole flight to open a webpage.
How much is the premium (paid of course) product.
How much of the free data is taken up in Ads?

With 238 seats (vice 350 to 410) the hard product is going to be objectively good. However, with that sparse configuration means everyone has to pay more for the privilege.

The bluetooth audio is a great announcement. Is the free wifi for J/F only or Y as well?

New seat with, drumroll…a door. But also free wifi (finally).

No rendition of the middle section seat config.
Oh, and some hints of new PE cabin - and hopefully a better seat….

Free to connect. Pay to use…? 😉

Or complimentary 100 MB that’ll last 1 min of 20 hr flight.

Maybe, and more space should (all other things being equal) mean better but I would not go so far as saying "is....)
A less dense configuration only points to a potentially better experience. The only thing objective is the seat density. The experience may be good or not good - because thats a value judgement.

If it has not been independently reviewed, how can it be objectively good until it is?
And when was the last time any airline cabin review was independent.

Pretty sure this is the Safran Unity seat which is a fairly new model. Not sure if any other airlines currently use this?

Edit: some renderings

Well! I'm somewhat surprised they changed the base seat manufacturer, especially to something that's quite similar to the old VantageXL platform. Wonder if they were having any issues with Thompson Aero? I know there's some talk about faulty seats and lack of replacement parts in another thread.

Otherwise it looks quite stylish, and finally introduces the doors that everyone seems to want these days.

I also want to know:

Are proper window shades are going to be a feature or the fairer and simpler electronic shades

How many toilets per cabin

Are the lie flat seats going to droop

How wide are the Y seats

How hard are the seats

Entertainment screen functionality

Etc etc

Can I get some objective answers???

Can I get a free ride so I can do an independent review. Im not an airline reviewer so that should be fairer and simpler.
Oh, actually that means my review cant be independent..Ho Hum....

But I promise to use a 50mm lens for pictures so I don't enhance the look...

Concentrating on the hard product:

Will there be real time back to base reporting of FDR and aircraft positioning with the almost ubiquitous availability of satellite internet?
I understand CVR might be in a too hard basket.

I asked a similar the question to that in the Ask the Pilots thread recently. Not concerning these particular new planes, but generally the answer was no. Even the current Qantas operation room monitoring is really only on engineering technicalities. I hope I paraphrased that properly.
