For those that wonder about the weird questions, read Cool Cat Phil's response upthread.

Market Researchers need to be weary of Confirmation bias that frequently exists with respondents in quantative research surveys.
In other words some respondents are known to answer "Yes" for every question hoping for them to qualify to participate in the survey in the search for easy points.
These sorts of questions about " do you own a turtle?" followed by " have you replaced your roof in the last month? " help to weed out respondents who are merely answering Yes to everything.

Might change the way you look at answering them, TheRealTMA, if you keep getting screened out.

Actually I've been selected for 3 out of last 5! Shocked actually! :)

Have unsubscribed - they get way too many questions in about my habits before they tell me the surveys actually closed or I'm not eligible. Not worth it

Received the project energy survey today and for a princely 100 points could complete the survey as long as I was willing to provide copies of my electricity and gas bills. I think they crossed the line on that one so declined and opted out.

Also, don't live in Vic so question why I was even asked
I think it was an extra 50 points (well for me anyway) if you uploaded your bill. I did the survey without the upload and earned 100.

Well I received a survey yesterday advertised as taking 10 minutes...

...only to find when I clicked through that it would actually take 15 minutes...

Hmm...

(I was screened out anyway, just like I was for the previous survery as soon as I said I didn't want to upload my energy bill.)

Screened out again. On a NZ survey. Im either too old, live in the wrong state, wrong gender, too interested in visiting NZ or not willing to spend enough money.

I loved one question for which an answer option was 'I've never heard of New Zealand'. I didn't realise these invites were sent to people in the USA  :p

I assumed it was because my next holiday wasn't to NZ despite the fact I put 10 for going to book one to NZ. :(

Yes, it's very annoying when that happens. I usually report this to the survey organisation when it happens and sometimes I have been given extra points as a result due to the misleading advertising for the survey.

Screened out again on a banking survey. Now they know which bank I'm with.

Same as me Pushka. That was Project Abacus. Now had 9 "Did Not Match" and 1 "Did Not Finish" in my last 10 surveys. Last points were 11 Oct 16. Can I make a year - probably not, as it is feeling like Coles or Woolworths groups...taking but no giving. That doesn't benefit anybody in the long run.

Just completed "Mobile Ringtone" survey for 200 QFF points.

20 or so filtering questions at the beginning of the survey to eliminate respondent bias with some bizarre questions to ensure one doesn't answer " yes" to many questions.

Survey was almost certainly on behalf of Optus, road testing consumer perceptions on some potentially new bundle deals they wish to launch.

Interesting to observe that Optus & QF still have a relationship, in the market research sense.
