Qantas Status Credits Boost

Just to ask, were you of the group that had already requalified for the current year or the group that benefitted from the status extension?

Yes, WP, ended year with 1950 SCs, new year began 01 Apr.

Hoepfully us May folks get a start also. In fact, I'd argue that June would have a strong case also!

I received the boost. WP end of March, already requalified under my own steam.

i can confirm they count towards lifetime credits.

As long as the state borders stay open I can retain WP fairly easily flying JQ max bundles.

WP with Membership Year End of March. I had requalified in Jan so had NOT received any extension. Got the 600 SCs.

another data point. Partner account that was also WP with exact same membership year but had NOT requalified WP and DID get the status extension to Mar 2021, however they did NOT get "QFF Status Credit Boost"

In my account the boost DID count towards LTG

Based on a couple of data points, the status boost seems to be applied if you have already requalified And didn’t need/benefit from the status extension. The boost is half your requal amount.

Data point - I had a 31 March requalification date (for Gold) and fell short by 30 SC as I cancelled a flight in March due to COVID. Qantas had also announced they would extend status for 1 year, so I didn't feel I needed to do my status run. I have got a 300SC boost to my account overnight. Also confirming it counts for lifetime status.

Got the boost too. WP, March, requalified on my own.
Without international flights, will be very hard to get the missing sc to requalify. I guess it's nice fot Lifetime tally, but I see this boost as a bad news, I think it makes it less likely we just get a blanket extension later. Waiting to see Qantas announcement to clarify the situation

Qantas advised me something will be happening this week in response to feedback I have given them but would not give me any details. I assume this is the announcement. It would be interesting to know, if this was being offered to all WP and P1 or just the members who had already retained status prior to 12 month status extension

Interested to see how it works if you couldn't retain WP.
I finished short with 1085SC with 3.5 month to go to my anniversary end of June. Had flights worth 500SC booked but all cancelled in March, April, May and June.
Hope I get the boost too.

Yes, same here. Already qualified WP (during previous status year) for year ending 30th April 2021 and just received 600 SC boost overnight.

As the credits didnt lodge in my account then I'd say its only to those who had already requalified. I would have requalified had my March International DSC J award flight to Bali not been cancelled due to Covid. End of April anniversary. .

Moot point, by next April I simply wouldnt have flown enough to get halfway anyway. Likely SA borders are going to stay closed to NSW and ACT and may even be shut out of Qld.

I guess there are / will be exclusions - unlikely it counts for all purposes.

One thing we can be sure of - it will be 'consistently inconsistently' applied.

Edit: After getting the e-mail, and seeing the web page, I may need to take that back. We'll see. :)

I re-qualified for Plat just before my anniversary, end of February (so prior to COVID and I was part of the last month group who got a year status extension - now end Feb 2022). No extra SCs for me ... just for info ... I don't need them.

This could be a rolling thing, where they do it every month for the next batch of people so long as the travel restrictions remain in place.

Interesting news, shall be watching. No activity here amongst the P1/WP/SGs.

I'm a WP with an expiry at the end of April next year. Had requalified prior to April but obviously anxious as to whether or not I could retain it barring a DSCs offer to NZ where I could utilise a couple of cancelled business class tickets converted to flight credits. I only found out about it this morning seeing this thread - logged on to my account and found my balance of 100 SCs (of which 40 was from Woolworths Rewards in June and the other from domestic trips) was now 700.

Does count towards my lifetime tally (now 6210) but not my loyalty bonus understandably.

May expiry. I had already retained WP and had bookings to attain P1 before COVID.
Still WP as there was no consideration given for people who were going to attain the next tier. I would assume that May expiry QFF will be given the same Status credit boost in the coming weeks / months
