Qantas Status Credits Boost

Wow. Complicated but I think generous for most members (assuming travel opens in October).
Very happy from my perspective.

Gosh could they have made it any more complicated? Simpler and fairer!

With Qantas not planning to fly any international flights before April 2021, not sure this level of support will be sufficient for those of us that principally rely on international travel to earn SCs.

" Earning Status Credits on hotel bookings"
I can not see any status credit earn rates on the luxury offers.
Is it a status credit per $ spend calculation?

Agreed it's not clear. I've tried calling Qantas Hotels and they've got NFI....

Will try calling QF Loyalty later to check...conditions seem to imply UP TO 100 SC per booking and 125 for promo period.

Part of me wishes I had spent the points to retain WP. 600 SC would be a lot better than 300 SC and put me closer to Lifetime Silver that I am closing in on.

Miss out on the extra bonus SC, though that does give me more time for flights to resume.

If the state borders open so I can get out of VIC and if the Fed government would allow us to travel overseas and QF resumes flying to the UK April next year then this could all work out very well.

However if international flights remain grounded for longer I suspect this support will not be enough.

Just got this from QF, November expiry and WP.

We understand Qantas Frequent Flyers have had fewer opportunities to earn Status Credits with reduced flying and travel restrictions. That's why we're helping eligible members maintain their tier by awarding a one-off boost of 50% of the Status Credits needed annually.

Looks like I'll be getting a boost to re-qualify from March next year. Certainly puts Platinum within reach for me again!
I'm sitting on 590 so the boost is going to either be very helpful or completely wasted...

Unfortunately you can't please everyone, overall everyone has something even if just an extension and extra availability on seats.

Well, I don’t have to moan because even though I have kept WP until end of February 2022, QFF has still given me 50% of status credits. Not actually needed to requalify, but useful towards life time status.

Per my response above on my current earn requirement, this will ensure that I jump straight to LTG - much appreciated!

Regards,

BD

Just got an email about this.

Status rollover month is July. Had already earned enough for 2020/21 via travel in Oct-Dec 2019, so the "status extension" done before was useless.

Looks like they are going to give me 600SC boost and 2x50SC support over Aug/Sep.

Still won't help unless borders reopen and I can travel again, at least to Japan and Singapore.

Got a different mail - status support in the form of more classic reward seats, 50% boost to SC's, bonus SC's for hotel bookings, but maybe its different for lifetime Golds, since most of us arent chasing SC's any more...

When does your year end?

At least it qualifies for lifetime... could be within reach one day, and never say never, only took me 11 years ;)
End of June. I'm unlikely to make up the difference to WP if travel doesnt get off the ground till March... its a good kick to LTS but still not quite there.

The offer took me to LTS in a blink.
Congratulations. The offer makes it more likely that I'm one long-haul DSC trip away from LTS especially if I can do a small amount of domestic flying first or get SCs whilst staying on the ground.

I just got the e-mail, as a Plat, with anniversary in February 2021. Using the calculator, it tells me I will get 600SCs in March 2021. That's appreciated, but as I have my status extended already to Feb 2022, I guess its good for Life Time count only (although I have LTG already). Not complaining by any means, just a data point.

EDIT: As pointed out by @RichardMEL below, I've mis-counted the dates, and it will assist in my 2022 requal for 2023. :)

PS no-where does it define 'Eligible member'.
