Note: I am not talking about the Expedia charges that are added on at the end (i.e. their booking fee) - I am talking about the base fare price.

There are valid taxes added on (passenger service charges and the like), so you're not really going to find anywhere that just charges the base price (well, not on purpose anyway).

It would be a good result if Qantas end up having to reduce the YQ through competitive pressures - still the further away this stuff from the public domain the better if it's more of a loophole type deal like expedia.com.br

Used expedia.com.br twice tonight with success!!!

Me and my partner are going to BKK, but we are departing from different cities.

I booked CBR-SYD-BKK vv for 1668 Real ($841 AUD) but on QF website the exact same itinerary is $1135!!

I then booked MEL-SYD-BKK vv for my partner for 1461 Real ($737 AUD), on QF website it is $959 with a similar but not exact itinerary. The itinerary I booked on expedia.com.br actually wasn't available on the QF website.

QF Booking ref's were generated immediately and I could go and look at my booking on the QF website within a minute. Amazing stuff.

Feeling pretty happy with myself. Thanks AFF! My partner thinks I'm a wizard haha :)

I am going to look and book in next month or so as I have a short trip to SIN in July.

Is there anyway I can get these flights to appear on My Bookings on my QFF page ?
Do I have to call Qantas ? Or call Expedia ?
I booked a few weeks back for flights in Nov and again in Dec.

Thanks

Get the Qantas booking number, go to manage my bookings where it has a field for that data and put it it, you should then have the opportunity to add the frequent flyer number to the booking.

can someone please post the link to how you can find out the qantas booking category without actually booking. i think i remember it having to do with looking up the coding of the website or something?

am up to the review page and still can't tell.

i ask the question as i've experienced what's been noted earlier in the thread - .com.br is costing out at higher than on the qantas webpage, booking into S category. while i understand this is upgradeable and so potentially a cheap way to upgrade i suspect the flight will be full as it's for a sporting event so cheapest way possible is more appealing.

Hi,

I had to change a booking for my gf recently from being YUL->AKL and return to the return leg being SYD->YUL and different dates (move from May to Aug). Fees were:
Change fee: 200 CAD
Service Centre: 80 AUD
Change in taxes: 60 AUD

So seems like they didn't add the YQ back in. The first agent priced it at 399 from SYD or 338 from AKL and the second agent struggled so seems like a manual process.

Paul

Wondering if anybody can advise on the following regarding my expedia.br booking:

My call centre experience regarding a simple date change was similar to Paul's. I called QF about 9 days ago to move the date of a flight in July by a few days (I've flown the LHR-MEL sector but changed the date date on the DXB-LHR sector). It was the same fare class so all I paid was the change fee.

Here's the problem - the PNR itinerary has been updated to reflect the new dates, however:
1) my card hasn't yet been charged or blocked yet and
2) looking at checkmytrip.com, there doesn't appear to be a ticket number of this itinerary.

Any thoughts on this and whether my ticket might be jeopardised?
Is there anything I should or should not do before my flight in Jul?

Heading to SIN tomorrow on another booking, thankfully date-change free. Seat map shows a refurbed 747.

New sale launched so browsing .br site over the next 24 hours should be interesting, fares on sale to the 13th.

Getting a hint that Europe is going to be nothing like last time, but Singapore as good as ever.

Sensational. I've already got a trip booked for November but why not book another..
