How many points and SCs is it? Is it almost Status Run territory?

Probably not (SC earn is only 60) but as pointed out somewhere upthread, converting the points earned to WISH gift cards (for example) will lower the cost even further. As an NB I'll pick up 7500 points which will buy a $50 gift card, a WP will pickup $100 worth..

For a WP 15000 points and 60SC

15,000 points to me is worth about $500

The ticket costs about $400, subtract the food in the F/J lounge and the alcohol

Add in the cost of 1-2 nights of accommodation in SIN

So if the ticket is $375 (with the throw-away accom discount), and you earn $100 gift card with the points, that takes it down to $275 for 60 SCs and if you are WP you can deduct the FLounge lunch beforehand and SIN lounge dinner before the return flight.

That is some serious value!!

Factor in the redeye Y flight - its a cost!

That's the part I am not looking forward to, and then going back to work straight after that..... A few hours in the lounge and then trying to sleep for 6ish hours in Y......

Then again I sleep anywhere actually!

Not sure why, but my chrome is not automatically translating the site. Any tips plse?

Chrome on my Mac translates automatically but on my work (Windows) laptop I found I had to right click and select "Translate to English" the first time and it then automatically translated after that. Might be worth a try.

You can go up to 80SC return by adding transit in BNE or MEL, I think.

From BNE, adding in both ways via SYD adds about 20 SC for AU$140. Doing transit on on leg adds 10SC for only about $15. (Guess where I am right now as a result of last round of .br? viz SYD on way, direct to BNE tomorrow).

EDIT: the dates I looked at, higher price with both routes via SYD is because outward is O class, return via SYD Q class. I haven't checked exhaustively, you may be able to find O both ways

Is it still just BKK and SIN available destinations?

I saw KL on some dates at a discount, although not as good, too...

Just did ITA search using AUD as $ and Rio as sales city

PEK, ICN, TYO all have about the same $ decrease as syd - sin (couple hundred $) in airfare but as they are more expensive fares to start with these tickets are still over $800 return.. KIX was over $1000
Lots of availability.
Haven't found a way to find it at the exact ITA level but only a few more if removing the booking fee on expedia.br

Anyone had any luck getting EK both ways? Looks like I can only get the outbound ex MEL.

mostly the time was more convenient, i've started a new job and didn't want to ask for time off already lol. icing on the cake for me was EK's 34" pitch compared to 31" although reports of Emirates 777 being 3/4/3 config kind of contradict any perceived comfort...

guess I'll find out in a few days :D
