Just wondering, how do you make these "dummy hotel bookings" on .br?
They are not dummy in the context you add a hotel for one night as part of the booking, picking a bugis backpackers or Batam cheapie, you just forget to show.

I have to make a few bookings this week, will be avoiding QF5 from now on, had OJC which is an OLD three class, IFE was 50:50, that is it worked for 50% of the flight.

It shouldn't be hard to find in the confirmation email, just find whatever the 6-character string is following "Código de confirmação:" or something similar and that is your booking reference

It seems all I can find is the itinerary number ?

Nizar, could you try logging in on the expedia website itself, perhaps that might reveal more information about your booking?

Go to expedia.com.br
You will need to click "Voo + Hotel" (Flight + Hotel in english) in the top part, just under the big title "MONTE SUA VIAGEM". Then put in your flight times and click pesquisar voos.

Now you only want to get a hotel booking for one night, but on the page that comes up you will be quoted with hotel bookings for the entirety of the time between your flights.

On the left where it has your dates that you are getting quotes for click "Editar".

Some additional fields will appear. Make sure the tick box for "Preciso apenas de um hotel para parte da minha viagem" is ticked.

Change the check in and check out to only one night and click "Pesquisar Viagens" to bring up new prices.

Then on the page that updates you want to click list by "Preco" to show the cheapest.

Voila!

Actually I just noticed you can click the checkbox ("preciso apenas de um...") on the first page too.

What I have noticed is that you can't do the flights and hotel option if you're booking multiple destinations.

For example, I wanted to get the Fri evening flight from SYD to BNE and then take the 22:30 flight from BNE on Emirates arriving early Sat morning in SIN. I then need the SIN - SYD return leg as well, which meant I had to choose the multiple destinations option, which doesn't allow me to also add on hotels.

Incidentally, I also noticed that I'm not able to find the Fri evening flight SYD to BNE as an option - they only showed Fri morning SYD - BNE flights. Whereas on Expedia.ie, the Fri evening SYD-BNE was available (although at about AUD 100 more expensive).

They try and keep the options reduced from what i see, evening SYD-BNE is unlikely to present much availability in the N bucket.

Yeh I can't as I (perhaps foolishly) didn't make an account with them, I just signed in as a "guest".
Might just have to call them on their +1 international number to get more info/booking number.

Thanks

You don't need an account if you have their itin and your email, that will get you online and should see more details!

YES !!!
As usual you are right, now I can see both bookings in the My Bookings page. Beautiful.
Now, time to book more flights :mrgreen:

Click on "Voo + Hotel". I was looking last night and price comes down just under AUD400 with one night in a hostel.

It has been tempting to book one of these but everytime I go and try to book sanity prevails....

Well you know, as they say, you can never have too many flights! :p

Hmmmm sale fares seem to be gone for the holiday period ?
I just tried 1-15 Dec, maybe I need to play around with dates ?

August still seems okay...

Thoughts ?

Was it Mark Twain who once declared that "sanity and happiness are an impossible combination"? ;)
Nizar, mid-late January also looks possible, date-speaking.

Actually Dec 1-22 is like 1007 real which is $496 not too shabby.
For my August dates I am still getting 827 real which is $410.

There are plenty of accommodation options including some good hotels at low rates.
Ah yes, have found an option with 2 nights in a 3 star in Chinatown I know (and its fine for just over $450 with accomodation for 2 nights), thats very reasonable!

I've found availability on these fares on EK433 out of Brisbane with a connection from a Qantas flight out of Sydney around 2000. You arrive early morning Saturday in Singapore. Combine this with QF6 or 82 on Sunday night could make a weekend trip.

I was just about to book this routing - depart SYD 7pm to BNE arriving at 9:30pm then taking the Emirates 23:30 flight out.

Then it occurred to me that if, for any reason, there is a delay out of Sydney on the Friday night (which has definitely happened on many occasions) then I would be sweating big ones hoping that I could land in time, get across to the International Terminal in BNE AND check in with sufficient time.

I could book the SYD-BNE leg separately, but I don't have the benefit of the great price (as I end up paying the separate one-way flight).
I could book the SYD-BNE leg via Expedia.ie (as it's not available on Expedia brazil), I end up paying the EUR price which is roughly the one-way fare, and it wouldn't help if there was a delay because I would have to book it as a multiple destination rather than as part of the one ticket (ie rather than QF being responsible for finding me another flight out of BNE if my flight from SYD comes in late, it would be entirely my risk if my SYD flight came in late).

So, having pictured the absolute nightmare of the thought of having to call Expedia brazil (in portugese) to change to a later BNE-SIN flight while sitting at SYD departure lounge watching delays on flights out of Sydney (rain/hail/fog/late planes - it's all happened before), I chickened out and booked the direct flight out of SYD. Stressful business this!

Apologies if this has already been discussed but how do you see upgradable fares using the BR site?

You would have been protected booking as a multi destination. It ends up being all on the one ticket. QF then would have had to sort you out if there were any delays, no need to contact the call centre.
