Finally made use of this (for my parents) - $468 return in May. Decent. Coupled with a few nights at the Shangri-La Sentosa, cheaper to book that via expedia.br rather than their own site. Win.

Amazing value! You can splash out for a few nights at a good hotel and still come in less than the usual QF fare to SIN.

Managed to get premium Y tickets to SIN for about $1150! Would people consider that to be a pretty good price?

Absolutely. Looking at the total cost if you compared it vs. the QF sale fare the hotel "real cost" was $100/night (assuming you had paid the QF fuel surcharges ;)).

I now see "a lot" of tax when I check out prices for EU-Aus. What is the general consensus, is this the norm now?

Thanks everyone, booked this yesterday for ~$500 AUD Bne-Sin - great value never would have guessed I would be booking flights through a Brazilian website! Nice trick with the disappearing booking fee too!

Maybe your crystal ball's become hazy and needs cleaning??!! lol
Sale on currently, Europe Companion Deal, seems the crystal ball is working fine. Actually you dont really need much clairavoyant ability to work out that there is somewhat of an airfare war on currently.

noticed the sale fares to SIN are still available on Qantas.com and expedia.br despite the QF sale page saying it's over

Anyone used these in conjuctions with a cheap SIN-LHR booking? I have seen the London flights on EK/EY/QR for as low as $800 recently wouldn't be a bad deal with the cheap QF/EK connection.

There's nothing to stop anyone doing this as you can interline the bags on EK & QR however not for EY on separate pnrs.

I think it would be a good idea anyway to overnight in SIN regardless to avoid potential dramas of a mis-connect situation.

I've made .br bookings a few times now and all good so far thanks to this great thread.

My bugbear is that I would prefer EK flight numbers rather than the QF codeshare flight numbers on the same (EK) metal. Is there any way to "force" these to be displayed?

Also there seems to be some dates where certain flight numbers are offered but not others. Again, is there any way to "force" a wider choice?

You can search individual airlines.

Not sure about the dates thing - it does show the cheaper options as a priority; it may be search criteria related.

I haven't seen the EK flight numbers at this rate either, I presume it's because their fare rules are different than QFs when sold in BR.

Try playing around with ITA matrix, you can cover a lot more ground to find the flights you want quicker

Just a little reminder that the ex-UK sale ends on 28th Feb. There are some good fares around the BRL1,900 mark, books into O.

Just popped my cherry on the .br site with a quick weekend booked in SIN for the grand total of $AUD472.54 (based on today's exchange rate).
SYD-SIN-BNE-SYD, 16,472 points, 70SC, ample time in the F lounge ex-SYD, full day in SIN, plenty of time QF lounge ex-SIN lounge... too good to refuse.
Would book more of these little gems if I could get more time away from work/family.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread.
