Something tells me that quite a few WP's and CL's will be more happy in the next few weeks, when flying Y..

I'm flying J for a few return flights east-west. As a WP It is gonna be incredible!

I worked it out, SYD-PER-SYD-CBR in J is going to net me around 22000 points :P

(CBR-SYD was WOAG)

I can confirm that the bonus points are starting to appear. A flight I took on the 17th was credited on the 21st.

The only thing I find incredible is the $4000 ticket price on CBR-PER-CBR in J. You should get a 22,000 points for wearing that.

So free upgrades to CL and Plat pax from Y to J...this was sent internally to QF crew...

Upgrades for our Premium Frequent Flyers
=========================================================================
Last week Qantas announced a range of special offers for our most loyal customers to thank them for their support
throughout the recent period of industrial action. From 22 November to 20 December any Chairmans Lounge or Platinum
Frequent Flyer will be considered for an upgrade from Economy to Business on selected domestic flights.

Wonder what 'selected flights' will be - prob off peak?

Incentive starts today 22NOV until 20DEC on domestic flights where Y to J upgrades on a space available will be done for FFCL and FFPL pax.

And the $$$$$ costs just keep adding up for Alan's "on the spot" grounding - lol.

Maybe he will change his answers a bit when faces the senate inquiry again on Thursday.

For the record I was not inconvenienced in the slightest with the grounding, yet QF sent me a sorry letter say I could've "possibly been inconvenienced", a $2000 travel voucher and a case of 2005 Shiraz wine. Very happy to receive this, but honestly from a cost perspective why send this to me when I wasn't affected by the grounding?

Nice - I have four domestic QF flights (SYD-MEL-SYD) coming up so will see if the gods are smiling...

As a WP1 they are sucking up to you. They are worried that you may have some negative view of what occurred. If your organisation's business/staff was inconvenienced even if not you personally then you may be the decision maker who says "lets give Virgin a try"

I don't really get all of this though. I used to fly regularly with an FFCL and he got an op-up on nearly every flight and if we were on the same booking I got the op-up too, so whats new?

my flights are with my boss WP and his boss WP1 - MEL-SYD - should be interesting to see if anyone gets an op-up - would be hilarious if i got an op up but my boss didnt, the WP1 im sure will get looked after...

-For SYD / MEL / BNE / ADL and CBR, this process will only be available Monday to Friday between 0500-0900 and 1500-2000 bases on the customer’s originally booked flight.

-For services from PER to SYD,MEL and BNE the offering will be all day Monday to Friday

I would have thought it would have been the other way around - those being peak times - the least likely of times for it to happen load wise etc

My thoughts exactly.

Interesting. Strictly speaking does this count as an op-up as it is not for operational reasons? But anyway if I get one I won't mind what it is called.

I wonder if it will take priority over people doing ODU with points?

I have taken about 100 domestic flights with Qantas in Y this year and not one upgrade. Would be nice to get at least one. Have had 4 flights with Virgin and got 2 upgrades.

Now the question is do I move my Sunday night flights to Monday morning to try and get one.

Initial Thought: Odd that 0900-1500 is excluded.

But on second thoughts: I'd suggest that lots of "I can't feel the love" WPs flying in economy would be flying during exactly these times (I know I do), so in fact this is the PERFECT time frame to target those frequent flyers that QANTAS want to retain.

Wonder if I'll get lucky tonight... :D

I dare say at peak times they won't be able to upgrade all the platinums though

Indeed, but suddenly the OpUp gods have a real chance of smiling upon us.

"I know what you're thinking. Did they OpUp 6 people, or was it only 5? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a Boeing 767, the biggest domestic business class in Australia ... you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?" :D
