Qantas to fast track airline loyalty program status

Applied again yesterday 16/12. (also on 8/12). As applications run out tomorrow 18/12 I have sent them a query via my FF complaints/compliments messages asking about what is going on.

Odd.

I received a response to my EOI last night (I applied 4 Dec).

The e-mail only asked for a copy of my current membership card showing the airline, status level and my name. No request for statement of flying history or activity showing how status was earned (I am matching from Platinum-equivalent status from an airline that doesn't allow pooling or gift Platinum level so I wondered if that was why?).

The e-mail also asked me to already provide my preferred start date "if" I'm approved.

I wonder if process has changed or is different depending on what airline or level you're coming from.

Will keep you posted on outcome. What a weird roller coaster this has been so far.

I received the same request (only asking for a screenshot of the card/status) and I am coming from Virgin Plat. I did apply a second time so not sure if it was the first or second they are acting on.

I applied back when the Fast Track offer opened, and had received an email back on 1 Dec asking for a photo of my card & a copy of my Virgin statement. I had requested a statement from Velocity FF gold, but had no response. So I decided to take screenshots of my activity from the website (with my FF number showing in each). I submitted these to Qantas yesterday morning, and received approval back today. The email stated I can nominate a start date anytime between now and 31 March 2021, but to give 10 business days notice.

Just got my acceptance email. Hoping you get yours soon FlyingKangaroo

Applied yesterday, and just got my reply, request for info has been relaxed for sure (as @FlyingKangaroo and @drex mentioned):

To get your application underway, please reply to this email with the following:

  1. Attach a colour copy of your current Frequent Flyer membership card for the qualifying airline (digital accepted), or a screenshot of your online account. The Frequent Flyer card and online account must show the qualifying airline name, eligible status and your name; and
  2. Your preferred future start date for the 90 day travel period which must be at least 10 business days from the date you reply to this email and prior to 31 March 2021. The start date cannot be changed or cancelled once nominated.

I applied on 30th Nov haven't recieved any response for documents- applied again applied today as today's is the last day let's see whether or not I get a response

Finally got a reply to my 2 applications but only after I sent them a message within my FF membership page.

Update: just received approval confirmation.

So to recap:

4 Dec: Applied
~8-16 Dec: Whinged ad nauseum on this forum and gave up
17 Dec: QF responds asking for details
18 Dec, 9am: Details sent
18 Dec, 4pm: Approval received

I suppose I got lucky with this version of QF roulette... now hopefully the borders internally will be open next autumn so I can make good of this offer! Good luck all... it does seem they're moving today. 🤞

I am tempted to apply again as well - no response from the first submission. Although I am starting to question if I want a match, anyway...

I wouldn't mind qantas Gold m Velcoity Platinum but I don't see myself using that any more
Gold in both is probably the sweet spot. Has been for some time, but I have enjoyed Platinum on VA. Free Economy X is a good perk...international is lacking, but that's hardly a problem any more....

Just put in another EOI to see what happens, and will think about whether to actually submit further documents or not in the meantime...

I sent a copy of my VA WP digital card at 6pm last night (no activity statement required) and received confirmation email 10:30 this morning. Looks like the status wars are on! And as if the premium boarding lines aren't long enough already haha.

I finally heard back and while they received my statement they did not receive a picture of the card which is strange as I can see it as an attachment in the email I sent. Anyway I presume I’m approved as they’re also wanting a start date which I’m now carefully considering based on the current border closures (I’m Syd based).

I received a response to my EOI today. Can only presume it was to my second EOI submitted on Friday, rather than the one I submitted on day one of the program. I can't seem to find how long I have to respond though, in the e-mail or in the FAQ. Any ideas?

Yes, it seems like they have lowered the bar (no activity statement and overnight processing for me). The email provides no clues. T&C's only says 10 days notice of your start date, although it seems like you can ring them and activate within that period. I assume you are wanting to wait to see the outcome of the border issues. Fortunately in QLD, I am doing rewards runs to Cairns to accumulate the 100 points. (thank you PointsClub).

Anyone get really confusing calls from Qantas staff about this?

I basically had an email saying I was accepted into the program; requesting start nomination date. I requested it and assumed it all started. That was about a fortnight ago; since then I had a 3 leg business trip which earnt 140 SC.

Yesterday someone called me (for the first time) saying there had been some confusion, and apologising for not accepting me into the program - indicating she thought that I had received rejection email. She was saying I have been accepted into the program after all.

Tried to ask what was going on because of the inconsistent messaging but gave up trying to get a clear answer and figure anything provided on the phone verbally is pretty useless anyway since I can't refer back to it.

Anyway with NSW inaccessible for at least a month I don't really care much now about this challenge and intend to buy business tickets flexi for all travels for remainder of financial year anyway but QF messaging on this has been pretty weird.

Wow, Qantas really has made a mess of this. My partner and I both received emails quite a while ago in the original batch, asking for card and activity details, which we duly provided 2+ weeks ago now, with no response.
Then today we both received the 'We're making it easier to complete your status fast track application' with the simplified request... but with a different reference number in each case from the original ones we submitted.
Do we just reply again to these new request emails? Or is there an easy way to contact Qantas regarding this?

So......... I've heard *crickets*.......

Guess I'll just hold out for a Qatar extension and more so Bain to finalise their Virgin offering (which is realistically where I would've been anyway, and would've likely stayed).
