Qantas to fast track airline loyalty program status

Well despite the confusing messaging, I've just logged into QF site and it says I reached Gold. So something there is working/humming along despite the lack of clear communication. :)
That’s a quick earn of 100sc. How’d you do it?

3 leg (ADL-SYD, SYD-MEL, MEL-ADL) in business (40SC per leg). Glad I paid in full for this trip anyway as I had to change my MEL-ADL leg with 4 hours notice due to changing border restrictions as well; otherwise I'd be stuck in isolation now...

And as a ex-VA only loyal flyer I was impressed with how smoothly the change was able to be made with QF app and how the lounges are being run as well. So I have to say 'so far so good'.

I can report I haven’t had the best experience with this promotion so far.

After multiple emails with no response from QF, I called and was verbally advised my trial was accepted and would start on the date I requested.

I have since flown 3 times and at every checkin counter or lounge entry the attendants knew nothing of the fast track promotion.

Luckily I already had emerald status through the resent Qatar promotion. If it was for that I wouldn’t of been able to enter the lounges.

Sad to see that now Qantas have to the monopoly of the only full service airline they think they can get away with poor service in all departments, call centre, lounges and checkin desks.

ah well, first world problems I guess.

I would not expect lounge or check-in staff to be familiar with loyalty program promotions/matters.

Would you be directing your email enquiries to [email protected]? There are currently long delays with responses in any case.

And welcome to AFF.

What did your status show when you logged in to the QF website or app?

Long time reader, but not normally one to post.

Yeah I totally agree and wasn’t expecting much from the staff, just disappointing that while Qantas are trying to reach out and capture loyal Virgin customers they don’t properly inform the ground staff.

I am someone who gets along with anyone but I still always remember when the systems don’t work well. You can get bad customer service anywhere in the world and that’s life, but when companies try to engage a new customer base it would be nice if things ran smoothly.

In response to Daver6, unfortunately my QF status on the website and app still show Bronze. I’m suspicious whether things will run smoothly once I tick over the 100SQ next month but we will wait and see.

I guess the sad reality of this market now is that they don't really have to do a great job; because there's no genuine competition. :-(

Hello All! Long time lurker, first time poster. Thought I would share my recent experience in case it helps others!

7 Dec - Sent VFF details
8 Dec - Called Qantas as I had an upcoming Rewards flight booking (Points Club Plus). Nominated 12 Dec as start date and was approved over phone
9 Dec - Email confirmation of Qantas Status Fast Track
22 Dec - Account shows 75 SC from Qantas Premier Credit Card
24 Dec - Qantas App shows I have reached Gold

Curiously, I only received my Qantas Club Digital Card after taking my flight. Very best of luck to all QFF status seekers :)

I had just assumed (quite possibly incorrectly) that something would need to show in your account.

From Qantas Status Fast Track | Qantas Frequent Flyer it would indicate something should be showing in your account. Sounds to me like what you've been told on the phone and what is actually happening are two different things. Unfortunately a common thing with QF in my experience.

Nice - how long after your first eligible spend on the qantas premier card did you get the 75 SC?

Since beginning the challenge, my qantas digital card shows a QC membership.

My challenge is due to begin mid-March, though who knows what domestic borders will look like.

For the moment I have a holiday to Broome booked end-March (MEL - PER - BME / BME - MEL) on points in J (88 status credits as I'm currently Points Club), but of all the states, I'd describe my confidence in the WA border being open at any given moment as tenuous at best.

Therefore I've also held a separate status credit run in April if that doesn't pan out that excludes WA using some Alaska miles sitting around. My partner says I'm idiot, but alas, I don't care; it can be cancelled without penalty and 95 status credits for 20,000 miles and $100 is worth a long day bouncing around the outback. (I realise a situation where WA borders are closed while these others open is probably a daydream, but these days, it's far more pleasant living in daydreams.)

Hopefully international borders will be open sooner than later and we can get back to the real flying.

Beware - don't use Mac Mail program!

After hearing nothing in response to my status fast track application (which I submitted twice) or my partners' (submitted just once), I followed up with Qantas who said they never received anything despite the original email submitting my details being clearly visible in the email thread.

Anyway, it seems that because we both submitted our applications using the Mac mail program, which has a bad habit of embedding image files rather than attaching them, Qantas's email system for this promotion seems to have ignored emails without attachments. Thankfully they let us resubmit our details (using the Gmail app this time) and we were approved almost instantly.

Now to figure out how the hell to earn the necessary SC as a SYD-based flyer with borders closed on us yet AGAIN.

Funny you mention it. I’ve been stuck in a loop with QFF and they keep responding with the same generic message stating they need a pic of my velocity membership card and to pick a start date. Think I’ve replied 3 times to it thinking it was a problem on their end. They appear to have my statement PDF as they made no mention of needing that. I may reply again with the gmail account. I’ve half lost interest as I’m also Syd based. Might have to pick a start date as far out as possible. What was the latest we could pick again?

Note that if you are using Mac mail, you can turn the image itself into a PDF (rather than jpg / png etc) then it will be treated as an attachment rather than embedding it.

Has any body received any confirmation that their Fast Track period has actually started? Mine was due to start on the 30th of December but I can't see any change in the app that leads me to believe this has been activated? Doesn't really matter as I'm based in SYD and had to cancel all of my upcoming travel, but it would be interesting to know either way.

Does your digital qff card show qc membership?
