Qantas to fast track airline loyalty program status

Finally got accepted after following another members advice here. Turns out my Apple email wasn't attaching the photo of the velocity card. My fast track starts next month and it may be a bit of a challenge given the current restrictions in Sydney.

So I’ve got my 100sc. For others who have completed fast track, how long did it take for your account to switch over to gold?

Hi All, About to enter my match period (pretty happy on the border news). Is it possible to change the FF Number associated with a booking online anymore- I've got a Qatar code in there and need to change to QF! Or do I need to call?

Have you already checked in? If not you can try change it through Finnair MMB.

I noticed this on my flights I had planned over Christmas, I entered my Qatar FF number and the option to change was greyed out in Manage My Booking. I wonder if this is how they are planning to crack down on people entering the lounge then switching to a QFF number for status/points earn?

Nope, thats normal.

I found the easiest way to swap out FF #s is on the QR app.
Or the Lounge agent can do this as well.

I've got the offer with a trial period from 29th March to 27th June. How do I get the 100 SC now? A Sydney - Melbourne business class flight only gives max of 90 SC if I'm not mistaken.

Fly, or sign up for credit cards/products which include SC.

A Sydney - Melbourne business class flight only gives max of 90 SC if I'm not mistaken.

SYD-MEL in Flexible Business (full fare J) is 45 SC each way. 90 SC return.

There are cheaper ways to earn 100 SC but that's probably not a discussion for this thread - go check the pinned Status Run discussion thread in the Qantas forum if that's what you're asking for advice on.

I was signed up a few weeks ago then got a reply to my initial complaint of NOT being signedu up and to simply send a copy of my velocity card and I'll be approved.(again) You have to laugh

What are the current SC products other than flying?

Didn't really understand the second part of your message, but you can usually find 'SC on the ground' offers listed on this page.

They come and go. In addition to the Qantas Money and Red Energy (recently expired) deals listed, over the past 6 months we've seen SC offerings from ANZ, NAB, Qantas Hotels, Qantas Health Insurance and BP.

I got the same email. I replied stating that I had already been accepted into the program but was not yet in a position to nominate a start date. QF replied to that email as follows:

'We understand that your travel plans have been affected by the recent restrictions. To give you more time to complete the offer we are willing to restart your Qantas Status Fast Track'

Ticked over the 100SC mark on a Monday evening, and was upgraded to Gold by Wednesday lunch in the same week (Gold wasn't there when I checked at breakfast, but was there when I opened the app again around midday).

'Membership month' hasn't changed, so I have Gold until April 2022 (being the rest of my current membership year, plus the next year). In retrospect, I should have timed my challenge to start as late as possible and to complete it right at the beginning of the new membership year, but with travel being so unpredictable (and over 50SC of travel already planned for January, before I booked more), I just wanted to get it done and secured, knowing I'd already be half way there if I timed it for now!

Of course, there's no jump start to Platinum - app shows I need the full number of SCs (minus what I've earned this membership year) to reach it... just in case anybody was thinking this challenge would put them half way to Plat, which would be the case when earning Gold the 'normal' way.

This might work in your favour anyway if Qantas extend status support in the next few months.

I was accepted into fast track as I am Velocity gold. Nominated my start date as 01/01/21 as had a flight to SYD-MEL that day.
I live in Sydney northern beaches. Had to cancel. Asked QFF to change start date and answer was no we can't.
I have emailed them again a couple of time's with one response saying no again.
Last email 19/01/21 explaining even more clearly/logically and very politely what has happened and when next travel is booked was and no response to date.
Any one else get effected by the late December lockdown and date changes?

Updating my progress transferring from VA Plat to Qantas, I am in my 2 nd trip since states have opened last Nov and the second month of my 90 day challenge for QF gold. Checkin was annoying with no personal service, but access to lounge with my BP was easy even though it displays as bronze. Thrilled with Qantas so far and looking forward to moving quickly from Gold to Plat.

Yep, I was in a similar boat, started the match on 30/12/20 and then couldn’t travel due to border restrictions. Asked for an extension but no love.

I have now taken my first flights and my QFF account is now showing a Qantas Club membership expiring on May 31st? So maybe Qantas have quietly extended this for us? Batesy what’s your expiry showing out of interest?

Hi Stig_aus.
I'm still tying to get Qantas to change the dates as I now won't travel until April.
No change to my Qantas club membership as I have a paid one that's until 2026

Where in the QF app can you check the expiry date? I found it yesterday but can't seem to today?
