Didn't really understand the second part of your message, but you can usually find 'SC on the ground' offers listed on this page.

They come and go. In addition to the Qantas Money and Red Energy (recently expired) deals listed, over the past 6 months we've seen SC offerings from ANZ, NAB, Qantas Hotels, Qantas Health Insurance and BP.
Slightly off-topic, SC now also available for rewards bookings for Points Club members. BNE-CNS has been paying 28SC.

I assume credits earned through Jetstar would count towards the 100 necessary for the upgrade? I'll be taking some annual leave next month and will take a few flights up north and down south to catch up with people who I haven't seen in a while. Will be easy to earn the 100 status credits but won't be so easy to maintain gold or move to platinum seeing as by the time international travel is permitted, we may be nearing the end of the first year of gold..

JQ SC will be fine. I agree with you about retaining - will be difficult if not impossible for me too.

As my flying starts back up (first trip tomorrow BNE/EMD but back on VA), I emailed QFF to trigger the Qantas Status Fast Track from 8 March (I know this flight won't be eligible for it, not worried about 10 SC's). Respose back within 24 hours:

"We are pleased to confirm your participation in Qantas Status Fast Track to assist you in reaching Qantas Gold status faster!

Earn at least 100 Status Credits through Qantas Frequent Flyer between 8 March 2021 and 6 June 2021, and we’ll upgrade you to Qantas Gold. During the 90-day period, you will have access to the Qantas Club, where available, when travelling with Qantas. To access the Qantas Club, please make sure your Frequent Flyer number is in your booking, and show your boarding pass or digital Qantas Club card available on the Qantas App.

To welcome you to the program and help with any queries we’ll give you a call over the next few days. Let us know if you don’t want a follow up call by responding to this email."

Well, I've been a QFF member since 1989 and have Lifetime QC, so I think I know what I'm doing QF ;). But I'll take the call to speak to somebody at QF. It's been 13 months since my last flight

I received a very similar email after I asked about my application. They also mentioned a phone call but I never received one.

Have booked a return business class trip CNS-BNE-SYD so should hit gold on arrival in SYD.

I was hoping VA management would have announced their plans for business class and Velocity other than closing their CNS lounge before I booked the QF flights.

For those who have applied for the Qantas Premier Platinum card, I understand that you become eligible for the 75SC as soon as you make your first eligible purchase. But how long are people generally finding they take to post? I just got approved for the card and will use it ASAP but I think the timing is going to be touch and go for me...

I see in YoungTraveller's case the SC only took 4 weeks, just wondering whether there are any other data points out there?

My SC hit a few days after first statement was issued

I was accepted into fast track as I am Velocity gold. Nominated my start date as 01/01/21 as had a flight to SYD-MEL that day.
I live in Sydney northern beaches. Had to cancel. Asked QFF to change start date and answer was no we can't.
I have emailed them again a couple of time's with one response saying no again.
Last email 19/01/21 explaining even more clearly/logically and very politely what has happened and when next travel is booked was and no response to date.
Any one else get effected by the late December lockdown and date changes?
Follow up to my OP on this matter.
QFF have now agreed after much pestering from me to change my commencement date for fast track to the 31st of March 2021.

Anyone having longer than usual delays in Jetstar status points being credited?

Been waiting on 30 (10 x 3) points to get credited

They used to show up 6 days after the flight without fail (I fly Friday, in my account the following Thursday). Except now all of a sudden they're not showing up at all. I've flown three flights in Feb that haven't been credited. I've put claims in for all of them and the first one has now gone past the date the claim is meant to be resolved.

Yes I'm eligible for the credits (starter plus fare).

The conspiracy theorist in me is getting jumpy as I'm exactly 30 points short to complete my fast track to gold status. I will still be able to hit 100 points before my fast track time expires....but right now would be nicer than stretching out for another month.

Ticked over the 100SC mark on a Monday evening, and was upgraded to Gold by Wednesday lunch in the same week (Gold wasn't there when I checked at breakfast, but was there when I opened the app again around midday).

'Membership month' hasn't changed, so I have Gold until April 2022 (being the rest of my current membership year, plus the next year). In retrospect, I should have timed my challenge to start as late as possible and to complete it right at the beginning of the new membership year, but with travel being so unpredictable (and over 50SC of travel already planned for January, before I booked more), I just wanted to get it done and secured, knowing I'd already be half way there if I timed it for now!

Of course, there's no jump start to Platinum - app shows I need the full number of SCs (minus what I've earned this membership year) to reach it... just in case anybody was thinking this challenge would put them half way to Plat, which would be the case when earning Gold the 'normal' way.
Similar experience here - ticked over 100 SC yesterday morning ~9am and the upgrade to Gold went through ~11am today. I also noticed yesterday, prior to the upgrade, that the "Qantas club bronze" 3 month expiry date (originally March 2021) had been pushed out to June 2021, no idea why. My Gold expiry is as expected, 12 months from my anniversary date - June 2022.

Normally if you have paid Qantas Club membership and then achieve gold, they essentially pause you club membership. It appears this is what's happening and if it sticks would be a nice little bonus should you not maintain gold at some point in future.

Hi all,
I’ve been a bit slow off the mark here, but I’ve been accepted into the Qantas Gold Fast Track, with a commencement date of mid-March. (Matched from Virgin Gold).
Sadly, my business needs for flying are still pretty thin, and international trips are still off...
I fear I may have missed an opportunity to gain status points via a Qantas Premier Platinum card, can’t find the offer now so I assume it’s finished.
Are there any recommendations for generating the necessary 100 status points ?? (Apart from flying!!)
many thanks

In the same boat, though I haven't nominated a start date.

I assume fares purchased through other sites such as flybuys travel would qualify? About to book a few tickets and wanted to make sure.

I got the email originally but never activated it. Trying to look for it now but cannot find it and have not yet received a reminder.

Is the activation link relatively simple (ie copy/paste when logged in), or is it coded with a long activation code?

Adding a data point here: I set my challenge to run from 30 March to 30 June. I went into my Qantas app today and noticed that Qantas Club membership is already showing up and has expiration date of June 2021.

They've either quietly extended this or have made an error; I hope it's not the latter and that they haven't already started ticking the clock early.

Not sure if I should be following up proactively or just waiting to see what happens.

ETA: It's just occurred to me that QF's IT system may not be set up to activate Qantas Club memberships on specific start dates, so it may also take effect as of the beginning of the month you nominate a start date. It definitely wasn't activated last month.

As mentioned above I am in the approved, but didn't nominate a start date bucket. I just had a call (didn't answer, have been getting a lot of spam lately) from someone from Qantas who advised more would be emailed. If you also haven't nominated a date yet you may get a call too?
