I think the system is still being set up for the SYD-DEL route ... sometimes there is no entry for SC & points earned on a paid fare

But older routes, say SYD-BKK-DEL show the points & credits

First three flights seem to be unlimited availability with points redemptions in Y and J.

QF123/4 (SYD-BOM) was not premium heavy either and had many upgrade opportunities.

Wonder why QF is not resuming BOM instead?

I didn't see any repatriation flights going from BOM, they all came from DEL.

I'd say a lot of the business at the moment is VFR. I'm not sure it will be an ongoing route, QF cancelled QF123/4 for a reason. Although perhaps it was just BOM that didn't work, they never tried DEL.

There is HUGE demand for SYD-> India seats. Most of the ICT Indians I know left Aus on whatever bucket fare, then caught MH or some other carrier back to their cities. So yes, QF can make hay while via SG or KUL/BKK is down.
Totally agree with this. I have got 4 trips ready to be booked once the borders are opened.

Those of my co-workers who are NOT residents OR AU citizens have taken any flight that's available. All they plan is to somehow get to SIN or DOH or DXB, once they are there, they are able to take any service to MAA/DEL/BOM etc. I also know someone who flew to LHR or somewhere in the US to be able to get into India ...

There is definitely going to be a lot of $ to be earnt in the AU->India route in the coming months.

I think the change in definition as parents being classified as 'immediate family' allowing parents of citizens priority access into Australia partnered with these flights is going to be very popular with this route.
I see a lot of families bringing their parents across

Have a lot of Indian friends and family - they are very price conscious, Even with a direct flight QF will not be the cheapest option for them in the long run.

This will be what QF's third attempt into India in the past 25yrs? I can recall, or perhaps my memory is failing me, the 747's flying BOM>SYD. I remember it because of the frenzy when it was known that Sachin Tendulkar would be on the same flight I was returning on.

Shouldn't that be smoggy?
It can be very foggy into DEL in winter, once couldn't land there fore 48hrs due to it.
