As stated by others I think there are plenty of points worthy of reading about including, but not limited to

- AKL transit
- any specifics in the lounge that may mirror the QF9 experience in PER lounge
- dining options and timing onboard
- arrival and departure procedure options in JFK and ease v other US options

I’m more than familiar with QF J but not so familiar with US arrivals departures out of JFK directly.
I’m more a short pics post and less TR person but I’ll add some to this thread once I have flown.

Have they finished the works they were doing at AKL yet, in the transit/departures area?
When I passed through last year, there were still doing works on the gate 15/16 area.
Ta.

O, should have check (dr) google first.
Lots of works that will commence at the airport in June this year.

I thought it was an okay lounge last night before a 50% loaded QF148 out of AKL... A 787 full of people though... 🫣

Where's the qf3/4 SYD-AKL reward seats already!?!?
They're there. We snagged two J seats for SYD-AKL return using points, back in Jan, for travel in late July/early Aug. Will be our first trip on a 787.

And at least for a while I assume the AKL lounge will be a sub-par experience as they start renovating.

Kiwi transit is normally pretty good, albeit they will probably need to staff up for this flight, but I'd expect you should get a fair chunk of the 2hr layover in the lounge.

I can't see past the paywall, but saw a photo of the PJs on FB and they look terrible. They have the designer's name blasted across them in huge print.

There are no pics of people wearing the new sleepwear in that story (only one of the things on the chair, as above), but there are these 2 pics of the designer and a model, next to Qantas planes. Note the credits in the second caption!

The relevance of what the model is wearing, escapes me.

The articles primarily about the Designer and appears in their Style section, I think it’s written by their fashion writer - I suspect The Australian have inadvertently broken an embargo in publishing it now as I think the official launch is later today

I really like them.
Very different to the Gandalf grey.
Hopefully I’ll get a set on QF3 next month.

Agree - miles ahead of the current offering which I refuse to wear. These sort of resemble the UA ones.

I think it's a reference to NY being the fashion capital.

The dress is exactly the same print as the PJs/ amenity kit and the article states they have a giveaway of dresses via QF marketplace.

Sort of…

“When the RV x Qantas partnership is officially announced tomorrow at an intimate lunch at the airline’s Mascot headquarters, Vallance will also unveil two dresses featuring the Waldorf-Astoria-inspired print that adorns the pyjamas and amenity kits. Qantas frequent-flyer members who purchase an item through Qantas marketplace will automatically go into the draw to win one of the frocks, which feature hand-beaded bodices, sunray pleats (which reflect the hotel’s grand pillars) and diamante and velvet belts.”
