QANTAS to launch their own credit card in tie-up with Citibank

I tried calling and was disconnected after about 10 minutes. Generally you need a sense of humour dealing with Citi.

Same.
Very useful for a WP...

I'm thinking I might keep them for 6 months incase I need to guest more than 1 person into the lounge (not that this has happened before?) and after that, just put up a general offer on my facebook profile?

I think the passes are digital- is there a way around this?

No. That's how QF does it now. What's the issue with digital?

Maybe I'm mistaken as I'm thinking about how VA do most of theirs- but if they're digital, how can they be offered to other people?
(Unless you're traveling also, of course)

The mail I received this morning said:

You can manage your invitations, transfer them to another Qantas Frequent Flyer, or find out more information here:

.... and I have received the same email, so can't see a problem transferring the passes.

For those concerned about additional cardholders, I got an email with this:

Plus, you'll soon be able to apply to have additional cardholders on your Qantas Premier credit card account. Stay tuned for more details.

Wow. How exciting!

I mean, how soon is "soon"?

Setting up before a hasty launch would have been better, or at least letting you know before applying.

re: lounge passes.

You're right, it seems that you can simply transfer them to someone else online (with their booking ref and last name) which actually simplifies the whole process. I suppose you can still sell them on gumtree although I there's now a data trail that QF could follow.

over 2 weeks now since initial approval, had 2 text messages now confirming approval - 2nd one with last 4 digits of card number!

still no physical card though, might have to call then cancel it as lost in a few days

Sent email to Qantas Money, they referred me to Qantas Premier phone number. Spent ages on the phone with the agent and he confirmed that the base contract income was used for the assessment. He wanted to speak with our payroll department again so I suggested he speak with our branch admin rather than HQ to obtain income verification. Gave our admin the heads up this morning but so far they've received no phone call.

Never say never, but whatever the outcome, I cannot foresee dealing with Citi ever again.

It might be too early to tell, but does anyone know how long it takes for the bonus points to post after spending $3k? The T&Cs state "Bonus Qantas Points will ordinarily be credited within 6 - 8 weeks of meeting the spend criteria", but just wondering (hoping) if they might in reality show up sooner? Reason for asking is that I plan to make a reward booking in about 4 weeks, and the extra 60,000 points would be useful.

I too would really appreciate the 60K points before the end of July (I lose WP) although my expectations aren't high. I'm hoping that if I spend the $3K min spend within the first statement period, the bonus might arrive at the end of the first statement (like NAB and Amex do). We'll see...

Mrscove passed the test too.
120,000 QF points for $298 is pretty good.
When the rest of the family get thru the minefield it will be 240,000 points for $596.
I used 280,000 to get one to Russia and back on Emirates First Class.

My card arrived a couple of days ago. In comparison to the Citi phone calls it was a very painless process online to activate it :)

Bazzi you have to be a bit more tenacious with Citi and keep thinking it is a test.

hahahah, I finally passed the test, its taken 18 days ...... Being self employed was certainly not an easy process. I can't say I have ever experienced a credit assessment anything like this....... they are one of a kind
