I am going to ditch my Qantas MC since it is a terrible product.. Since yrs membership is already paid, I will return it next yr ..
So many merchant devices reject it giving some error message.. They even cannot send me a statement saying my email is wrong via sms but Qantas have no issues with my mail..
Statements read is mess since password never work..
What kind of a idiot set this up ?

CITIBANK ;)

Yes its a citibank support but Qantas did the implementation and terrible security issues.. I have 2 Citi Visa and MC and they are great and not implemented like this..
I asked from City about this terrible implementation and their reply is its a Qantas control issue...

knock on wood I've had no issues with any merchants anywhere with this card....

(I know, famous last words right? :D )

Good to hear 75K point deal. Am I eligible for this if I just got Virgin Money (Citi) credit 2 months ago?

Just be aware, I was rejected for this Qantas card. Comfortably cover all the requirements, I'm currently holding the Virgin one (about to bin when I hit the final month bonus). That seems to be the only flag I can see. After the Qantas rejection, I applied for the HSBC Qantas card and was approved.

I’m about to apply soon and by all financial measures should be OK. Wonder if my 3 credit card sign ups (ANZ Black, Westpac Black and NAB Signature) this year will hurt me. Have you been churning at all?

Just on this, I've been out of credit cards for a while due to a problem with my credit rating that I had been fighting. Now that it is cleared the HSBC card was the one I went for - I can't fault it thus far. Relatively good earn, relatively low annual fee and the online banking is virtually real-time. 60k signup sealed the deal after I'd heard that QF was using Citi bank - whom I've always found hopeless.

They even sent me a link last week - click on it for 20% more points up to 31st December. Who offers extra points for nothing!?

Qantas was the 3rd application this year. Credit rating in the top end of very good.

The Virgin money card was only in August though. I do wonder if the Citi thing plays into it.

I have this worry that now I've been approved for the HSBC one that the Qantas one will somehow appear in my letterbox.

I applied for this card a week ago and gee am I sorry. Everyday I have had phone calls requesting extra things.
Most frustrating!! They have sent messages to call them, have phoned me and even emailed me on my work email, which I didn't give them in the application. I guess they got the email from my work details. No decision yet, really?

What sort of pay history is Citibank asking for? The last two slips? Two months? Three months?

They asked me for two. Interestingly, after they rejected me I applied for the HSBC card and was approved - that's registered on my credit file. Nothing from Citi/Qantas.

I applied a few months ago. They asked for two pay slips but before I could supply them, they emailed me (the next day) saying I was approved and I got the card a few days later.

I already had a Citibank Signature card so I don't know if that made a difference.

They asked me for 3 pay slips. A copy of other earnings e.g. interest. So I had to supply bank statements.
But just when I was about to say forget it they sent me an sms to say it has been approved.

Honestly hopeless.... I spoke with somebody a month ago reference the 60k points, and I was told they'd be deposited in November. Didn't happen, so I've been on the phone for an hour now with numerous Citi idiots who can't seem to figure out what I was told, nor what was supposed to happen. Seems the biggest issue is that they all use fake names, so there is a real problem finding notes that have been left on the account. I feel sorry for these third world staff that Citi uses up, but to just make up a name when you're on the phone with someone (which also makes it very hard to track the details you have provided to the customer) is beyond inappropriate.

Have had to send it to the FOS

Yep, I sent it to them after giving up on the call centre staff. I was promised a callback within 24 hours from the callcentre, it didn't happen of course

Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I noticed the other day there are a number of actually decent bonus spend offers now available in the Qantas Money app...the functionality is listed as 'Beta' but I assume everyone can see it? All offers are opt in and some examples:

-Earn 3000 QF points when you spend $250 at David Jones
-Earn 2400 QF points when you spend $300 at west elm / Pottery Barn
-Earn 1600 QF points when you spend $200 at Peters of Kensington

...there are many more. With Xmas shopping season here I can see some of them being easy to take advantage of.

Applied for this card around 5 months ago but was declined after checking the credit file. Decided to apply again tonight and progressed to the upload payslip section (woot!), successfully uploaded the payslips. So now the application is in review stage, based on your experiences, how soon should I expect the interrogation phone call, if at all? And based on your experiences, has your application been declined after the phone call? (Relying on the approved as the bonus points will significantly contribute towards my 420k OWA fare, so hoping for no issues)

The phone calls should start very quickly.
I had about 5 in total and just about when I was going to say enough is enough, they approved it.
Cards arrived very quickly after that and the lounge passes.

Same here - applied 3 months later (ie a few weeks ago) and got it - this time with more bonus points
