Have had a couple of these complimentary upgrades beep through in the last 3 months.

One was BNE-MEL (737)
Other one was MEL-AKL (737)

The first one I got beeped at the gate and the second one I noticed in the app when I went to check in.

There’s been a lot of reports on Fb, Reddit & here of complimentary upgrades on DOM and short-medium haul INT QF flights for WPs since VH took the helm. Definitely a charm offensive [still] underway, but it’s also easily offset by the ongoing noise around paid legroom seats for the majority…

Cheers,
Matt.

The bad thing is that P1s aren't getting comps, especially on flights with empty J seats.
Maybe they know they don't need to win the P1s over.

As QF Gold, unsuccessful upgrade to J but upgraded to PE on PER-LHR on the 21st May.

I was *very* happy to at least get PE for this trip, avoiding the 787 Y nightmare on such a long flight. PE was very comfortable and service was terrific. More than just Y with a better (*much better*) seat.

QF291 on 4/6, from Y flex -> PE successful, advised at T-21. I really liked the spaciousness (seat pitch & recline) and mini cabin of the AY A330 PE. My leg support didn't work and there's no foot support (net, bar, or similar) but the seat still worked well for me. There's a risk that I might like this PE equally to their J.

QF1 SIN-LHR on 4/6, Y flex -> J successful, advised at T-60.

WP, both requests submitted in March.
