Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Success #2 out of 2! Husband scored points upgrade from PE to J on QF 64 coming back from Johannesburg. He scored seat 14K on the way over, and has been allocated 1K on the way back. Very happy!!!

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

2 x PE>J for QF18 JFK-xLAX-SYD on Thursday confirmed at T-60. Looks to be a very empty bird.

A tip as well for those with EF who don't seem to get the QF text as timely as they might like, I've found from the last 5-6 upgrades that the first to notify is actually EF. What I do is after requesting the upgrade, I create an alert in EF on the seats I have allocated in the originally booked class, and the alert that comes through on that (to say those seats are now available) has always been ahead of the QF text. Sometimes by minutes, sometimes hours... once it was the only alert I got.

Cheers,
Matt.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Y to J for QF81 on Saturday 5th from SYD-SIN confirmed last night at T-60. Now praying my preferred and selected suite doesn't get subbed out at the last minute!

Cheers,
Matt.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Our upgrades came through for QF18 on Tuesday at T-60. Then to agonize over seat selection, given 11A & B - too close to the toilets and bassinet perhaps. Re-read all the posts on 747 J seats and decide to move to row 14 instead. No wonder flying is stressful ðŸ

You've still got time to pre-order meals also on Q-eat via MMB now you're confirmed..

True, but I might pig out in the LAX Flounge instead. I always end up eating and drinking too much on these flights.

Stressful? just exterminate them!!!!! (or "Put him in with the curry!" :D )

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

My upgrade for 4 PE to J on QF1 came through in the 30th at T-16 hrs.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Flew QF128 back in Aug points upgrade cleared for 2 pax Y-J, I'm QF gold other pax is NB.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

I've been lucky as a PS (now SG) to have four from four successful upgrade requests on QF11/12 QF93/94. Have an upgrade request in from J to F on QF11 on the 29th Sept. Unlikely to happen but it's fun dreaming :)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Another upgrade out of Y (Flex) to J from SIN-SYD on Saturday (QF82) confirmed at T-60. Currently showing as operated by a refitted A330-200, which would be my first time in the leather-clad edition of the suite. I tend to get a bit hot on the underside at the best of times, so hoping it is not too uncomfortable with the mattress fitted.

100% upgrade success rate as WP continues...

Cheers,
Matt.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Success with tomorrow's QF18 JFK-LAX-SYD. 65K points burnt upgrading from PE to J and I'm PS. As it stands, I've got a 100% of my requested upgrades in 2015 (QF 128, 93 and now 18).

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Success for 3 upgrades from Y to J to SIN tomorrow, notified at T-28hours. That included me (SG) + kid on one ticket, and SWMBO who's NB and was on a separate ticket (I used my points). Only thing I don't know is if QF35 is new seats or old, but 1st world problem :)

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Ahhh thank goodness. 16 hours on a plane is now looking a lot more fun.
Y->J on QF7 came through this morning at T-28.5.
Availability just before the upgrade was
F4 A4 J4 C3 D1 I0 W1 R0 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N2 G0 E0
2 F-J upgrades were also processed at this time from what I could tell.

So this year I'm at 50% success rate with 4/8 requested upgrades coming through.
Also on 50% free upgrades with Emirates.

Re: QF Upgrade Success Rate

Hey guys, in regards to domestic if it was requested but not given straight away when do these upgrades usually clear? Is it a couple of days or hours? Pain in the cough waiting much rather had ASA's but anyways!

I had a requested domestic upgrade for 2 people ADL to PER come though roughly 24hrs prior. Original request was made a month in advance.
