Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

QF73 SYD-SFO 15th October scored Y to J. Saw at least one empty J seat.
QF8 DFW-SYD 21st October scored Y to Y+. There were 5 empty Y+ seats.
Pretty happy as i'm only Bronze!
Great outcome!

Re: QF8, had you selected the option to accept Y+ if J was not available? Or did you just try for Y+?

We are flying tomorrow at noon on QF35 to Singapore (both Platinum). Requested a points upgrade as soon as we booked many weeks ago. With about 20 hours to go, still no notification either way - still says 'Requested' on My bookings.

Probably not expecting anything at this stage - but will perhaps try a last minute request at the MEL F Lounge.

Got the rejection text at 3am this morning.

With the Bid for Upgrades - are members using this to put in a bid that is higher than the request upgrade amount to try to jump the queue, or are you using it to put in a lower amount to hopefully snag a J seat cheap that they haven't been able to fill by other means?
