QF8 DFW-SYD 21st October scored Y to Y+. There were 5 empty Y+ seats.
Pretty happy as i'm only Bronze!

Yep! I selected the option to accept Y+ cause I wasn’t expecting J on that route.

We are flying tomorrow at noon on QF35 to Singapore (both Platinum). Requested a points upgrade as soon as we booked many weeks ago. With about 20 hours to go, still no notification either way - still says 'Requested' on My bookings.

Probably not expecting anything at this stage - but will perhaps try a last minute request at the MEL F Lounge.

More success as P1 - QF70 DEL-MEL, received the message again at T-27 (can almost set my watch to it). Travelling with SG. Was able to get row 1.

Tbh QF 35 is using A332 - the benefits is not as much compared to newer aircraft like 787 or A380

QF12 on 31/10 - Y+ to J upgrade came through around T-48 or so.

Oh, and I requested at Y+ to J upgrade for my Dad and his wife, both NB, on QF103 for Sat 28 September.
The upgrade came through at about T-28. They were just thrilled.

With the Bid for Upgrades - are members using this to put in a bid that is higher than the request upgrade amount to try to jump the queue, or are you using it to put in a lower amount to hopefully snag a J seat cheap that they haven't been able to fill by other means?
