Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

QF27 SYD-SCL success Y+ to J on 24/7 as a WP, only booked 5 days previous. Showing as J9 day before. Confirmed at t- 26
QF28 SCL-SYD success Y+ to J on 1/8 as a WP, only booked 13 days previous. Showing as J3 day before. Confirmed at t-20

Pleasantly surprised. Upper deck for both only 50% full. Lower deck 90%

QF93 MEL-LAX success August 12 as WP. Was notified 3 days out.

My colleague who is SG was also successful on the same flight, although he was only notified the day before.

Lots of empty J seats showing in the days leading up to travel, but all were full during the flight. Seems they upgraded everyone they could.

Will be interesting to see my luck on the 787 return on QF96 with the smaller J cabin.

QF96 today was upgraded to W only. Damn you small J cabin.

Is there still a chance of an upgrade to J at the airport?

Successful J > F, QF81 SYD to SIN on 20 August. WP notified ~T-60.

As an observation, only 3 booked in F until Wednesday last week, then looked like P1 / CL upgrades processed seeing four more seats go, then just one more (me) as of now. Will be interested to see what Monday brings.

Let us know if cabin ends up full. That's what happened to me twice recently. On one flight just 6 hours out 7 F seats were available for sale - cabin ended up full.

Two successes this month:
QF1 SYD-SIN J to F using points.
QF36 SIN-MEL J to F using points.

Notified 7 and a bit days in advance (P1).

Will do. My guess is full. Either through processing NB / PS / SG upgrades between now and departure and also staff that have F available staff travel.

12 / 14 as I sit here waiting to pushback. 1A is unserviceable. From what I could tell there was one more upgrade processed yesterday, which left 5 seats free. Therefore 3 more upgrades / staff since then, one seat unserviceable, one seat free.

Thanks. Amazing how it fills. Noticed it in J domestic cabins recently too.

Hope you enjoy(ed) the flight!

This week QF1 SYD-LHR J to F notified T-28.
I was watching the loads and seat maps on the flight for the past couple of weeks it was F2 with two seats unoccupied. J with a couple of vacant seats.
I think I was maybe the only upgrade so feeling very grateful even if it is the Harry Potter Suite !!
